Personally I've never understood live acts at demo parties, unless it's something scene related and non-mainstream (like f.e. Goto80). Please, no coverbands who play "cool new versions" of old C64 game tunes.

If i'd get to decide who's playing, it'd be Dune/MD/Xhale/Distance (a man with a laptop and nerdy glasses, see earlier) or any other scene musician that's gone pro/semi-pro. Although Distance doesn't have nerdy glasses afaik. Oh and thumbs up for Nosfe gig too!

other good one man projects: tero, kasko, dr. robotnik

... all of which would require flights, at the least :)

Well, I know that Welle:Erdball gigged on Mekka/Symposium and Breakpoint a few times already, this _might_ get boring for one or the other, but a) they are from Germany and usually come by van, b) they might be asked if they are willing to support BP by playing for a small budget or even for free... (f.ex. they played on the Oxyron party last year...)
At least having them to rock the party would be better than having no livegig at all.

Sorry, but hell no!
Its not the scene, its the world we live in.

The scene showed so many times that money is just a tool,
which used in correct ways can move a lot.

We cant change things. Events cost..

No Welle:Erdball again... I've seen them 3 times now I think.

Scamp: I heared that Digitale Kultur e.V. is thinking about the possibility to "forward" donations to you. Did you come to a kind of agreement there?

Welle:Erdball was enticingly boring the last time I saw them at Breakpoint. But it's all a matter of taste I guess..

good to see that there are so many willing to fill ears with fun sound for free (boy that sounds gay, but that must be my italo background).

(take your shorts off!)

as for the 250e ticket, well, i think i might make a smaller scene.org donation i guess and perhaps consider coming to bp this time. havent been to a party for a while now. dunno.

good luck orgas and good to see that there's enough support from our own to get the basics (which is all we need imho) down already!

This. I still think that in these times a overpaid live act would be ridiculous, even if there was money for it.

Doesn't Markus Alexander play for nearly nothing? :D

Maybe KB could make an outstanding act on the floor... he already did back in good old Mekka Symposium Times. But I respect if he refuses do, coz of already hard organisingactivities. JCO surely would sing for a beer. And at the end... Singstar would be a solution.

What about a KARAOKEwith random sceeners? To sing to scene-music like VIP2, FR-25, Lifeforce... or Hyperscheisse? This surely would burn... 8)

or maybe ddt could sing for kb once again...

Skrebbel should do the ukulele thing again. That was pure awesome back in the day.

No fucking karaoke please, it's already painful as it is at Stream. Someone should bring a guitar though, to pass around the campfire.

i also opt for no karaoke. i can play some 70s/80s disco perhaps, but that would require sl decks.

this whole idea of a 'plain vanilla no shader seminars or loud live acts' demo party almost makes me wanna go :)

Yes! The people demand Skrebbel's super-awesome ukulele show!

he should wear an authentic outfit with that as well.
