Brokepoint - Breakpoint 2009 is in danger and needs YOUR support

category: general [glöplog]
stijn: yes :)

a 360 compo would even be better to my eyes as many expert coders around know that box intimately and professionally ;)

although i'm not sure that microsoft still need to promote the 360, the "XNA Community Games" channel has opened lately...

And furthermore, XNA doesn't have _anything_ to do with "real", professional 360 coding. At all.

scamp: this is pouet, what do you expect? I know you orgas are busy, but a forum at breakpoint-site would probably be much more productive
scamp: fair enough.

to be honest i personally don't feel my shoulders as stronger enough, i was just pointing out that there may be cheaper alternatives around, but they would need as much work, time, testing and manpower indeed.

... and most suggestions aren't ill-natured anyway. Cool it, big boy.

yago: a forum at the breakpoint site would also require manpower to set up and keep reasonable spam-free, which again, we do not have :)

2 cheap webcams with color filters well placed at the back of the hall and there we are, a 3D stream for the interweb people ;)

ryg; i know, thats why i typed "I know you orgas are busy, but" before the forum-stuff
be there or be square!

I totally agree with scamp and the other orgs that is trying to get the party done.

You complaining people should be happy that the party is taking place at all and all this nagging might even put orgas off doing another breakpoint.

So instead of complaining about the partystream get your lazy as to the party instead.

My personal opinion is that the partystream can be dropped totally from the list and the money that eventually would been for it should be given to the orgs working hard to making this party happen.

We're not complaining. Its only been suggestions.
But we get it now. You thought of everything, so no more suggestions needed. Fair enuff ;)

Maybe not everything, but we thought of quite a few things, yes. And furthermore there's a freaking huge difference between a sentence with "could" or "should" and actually doing something. And we ARE already quite busy with sorting this out.. and the over 9000 other problems you never knew and never will.

HOW MANY BRIGHTLY DECORATED FOOD STANDS CAN WE EXPECT?!?!?!?!
added on the 2009-02-04 17:43:59 by forestcre forestcre
i guess they really do cost ... nothing? since it's a known fact that the closest place to buy food is Lidl and that's closed more than half the time. so i am sure, there will be some.

Just like to say how impressed I am that you orga-guys made the financial situation and the rescue-plan public and transparent for everyone.

That just feels right. I even consider comming to BP this year.

i second forestcre. furthermore; will the crepes lady show up again and what about the coctail bar?
added on the 2009-02-04 18:52:04 by uncle-x uncle-x
rumours go marco van basten will sell the crepes this year!
I hope they cook the crepes a bit more than usual. They are a bit floppy and that.

Plus, savoury options like Eggs, Beans and Mushrooms with herbs. Mmm.

i guess there's no hope of scaling the facilities back (drastically, if necessary) if the required target is not met?

I mean, it would be perfectly acceptable to party to a 32" CRT television, setup in an old derelict school...if all else fails. That's really partying like it's 198x, i know, but it could also be cool :)

The theme could be: Brokepoit - "Ghetto style!"

they said before that they _own_ the bigscreen, so that would be a bit pointless. :D
