What software do you use to the the work done?

1. terminal usage: a lot, sometimes, never.
2. automate tasks with: rakefiles, perl, bat files, a lot, sometimes, never.
3. how much is in your dotfile, autoexec.bat: lots of things, somethings, empty.
4. do you rely on cronjobs:
5. what other tools do you surround yourself with: task manager, automator, hiew, winmerge.
6. what SCM do you use: cvs, svn, git, hg, manually, none.
7. filemanager: explorer, totalcommander, finder.
8. other?

Maybe some of you knows about some super tool that can make some things easier, or maybe you have some clever setup. There are a zillion other questions..

anyways here is my setup. I wish it was better somehow.
1. too much terminal usage
2. automate as much as possible with rakefiles
3. maybe 60 lines in my bash dotfile
4. a backup cronjob everyday of the repositories
5. OTX, fseventer
6. git
7. finder :-(
8. textmate as editor

1. Used to use KingCON, but now I use OS4's shell (not the one in the public release)

i do nearly all my work with windows explorer, a freeware tool called "programmer's notepad" and opera. oh yes, svn and ms office.
