That shows on what stupid pillars are civilization is build! noone can imagine a world without money. but why? because they are greedy? why needs a bill gates so much money all his descendants could never spent (taking they dont buy countries every day)?

Money or not, if you don't work you're not supporting yourself but leaving others to do the work for you. Which makes you a lazy, selfish fuck (unless you happen to have a fortune handed down like bill gates' kids, or you're studying with the aim of learning skills you'll actually use).

And a world without money? What then, spend your time farming so you have food? The world would go backwards, fast. It's not money that's the problem, it's greed and laziness, and getting rid of money won't change either.

crosbow: and how can that ever work? Everything is free? What stops the fat people taking all of the food? Or does somebody decide what everyone can or can't have (so we no longer have any real choice)? Or do we trade? Who is going to swap my software for some food, or do I swap it for something, swap that for something, and eventually have something a farmer wants? Sounds incredibly shit whatever way you cut it.

And bill gates has lots of money, so what? He's doing good things with it. Lots of money gives you power to do things. More money = more power. You can do good or bad things. Bill chooses to do good things, that he couldn't do without his money. I'd say he's living proof that you're talking bullshit :) (And no, I don't like the guy, based on what he's done to the PC industry over the years. But I have a ton of respect for his charity work).

Problem is, job doesn't make sense to a creative person and I am talking from personal experience, mind you. I think. For example, I have friends who know nothing about programming but dream on working on the industry so that they will have to learn to do work on this field. But if you can just sit in your room and learn to code then why do you need a job to start a hobby? I also know people who cannot understand my hobby for no money yet they want their programming job to be a hobby at the same time.

So, if I already want to be creative at home and I don't need a job except from supporting me, I don't feel like I need my job except for money. Maybe I haven't been in a very pleasing job already but I doubt I will. Till this moment, a job for me is a necessity, not something I would ask doing in my life. I know this is sad for me (because if I have to be eight hours per day at job, it would be better if I actually liked it) but that's how I feel about atm.

psonice: that's why the greedos will be shot. And no there is no trading. Also let's say someone takes all food. Where does he store it? What will he do when it rotts? What will he do against a hungry town? => he will be not shot, but torn into pieces.

optimus: find a job you like doing, and you can do creative stuff in? There is one out there somewhere. Find it, figure out what you need to do to work there, and go make it happen.

Otherwise, you need a job so you're producing something, so you can get something in return, so you can have a computer to make demos on and food etc. to live. Or, you can let the state give these things to you, but this is more or less equivalent to begging. It's bad for the soul ;)

crosbow: great, so with some friends I take most of the food, hide it somewhere, and create a shortage. Then I trade food with desparate, hungry people. I trade it for guns. Lucky me, I now control lots of food and have plenty of protection, and can take more food whenever I want.

That sounds so utterly fucked up it makes north korea look like a holiday.

I wouldn't do that, but somebody would. (Or maybe I would do that, because if I didn't, somebody else would, and I'd rather it was me than some scumbag criminal who'll abuse it as far as possible!)

And why wouldn't they want to trade? Are you saying everyone will just give up anything they have if somebody else asks? Great, so now I just go around and ask people for guns :)

Why do you think about the whole system so much, instead of just accepting? You don't try to think of any way to abuse the current system, do you?

crosbow: if everyone accepted such a system and was perfectly fair and honest, I'm sure it would be amazing. I suggest you go find a place where the people are like that, and get started ;)

Not everyone has to, we could kill the violators off until a less greedy human strain has evolved/was natural selected.
