As Jolyon Ralph says, "It's a completely underground thing that's completely harmless. No one gets hurt. Apart from Atari owners, of course."

note the wikipedia article is useful for bibliography plundering, primarily interesting for that

That wired thing is Awesome!!!
Evidently polish are much harder boozers than finns indeed in general. I remember very well when finns were waking up and drinking some beer at some BP, poles were already busy with their hard stuff.

That wired thing is Awesome!!!

random quote from that wired article:
the Atari ST, has disappeared from the scene - a disappearance hastened, if you believe the coders, by the sheer superiority of Amiga demos

awesome, indeed.

Some feeling stepped on? ;)
trust me, the Atari is more alive as a demo platform than the Apple I bet

(please, please someone prove me wrong . . . not to the detriment of Atari, but . . . damn you Steve Jobs, you shit in my dream)

I would recommened some stuff, which is (unfortunately) available in German language only.

Dr. Daniel Botz wrote a whole book about the demoscene, called "Kunst, Code and Maschine: Die Ästhetik der Computer-Demoszene". It goes through all parts, history and present of the demoscene in a scientific point of view:

Interview with the author (German): http://www.bitfellas.org/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.2139

Anja Hartmann wrote a scientific thesis about "The role of fonts in demos". She had a closer look at five prods, which are Heaven Seven, Die Ewigkeit schmerzt, Rastro, Human Sources and Angelic. The thesis consists of 28 pages and is written in German language.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned http://www.kameli.net/demoresearch2/?page_id=4 yet?
Thanks for the certainly excellent readings. I'm really interested in reading this German book by Daniel Botz, but I need to learn the language first. :P
