wertstahl: in 20 minutes on scene.org =)

i'm uploading the releases right now, but my connection is not very good, so it'll take until tomorrow noon until everything is up, but the one sample compo will be up in a bit.

While we're at this.
BB Image

..

Ok, so it's hires, but that's pretty much just a b/w image, wtf. I mean, seriously... 67MB?

tomoya, afaik this piece is part of the ascii exhibition that will open tomorrow. i think dmg simply submitted the same image they used for printing it on canvas. that''s why the high filesize.

about the image, it is not simply an ascii file, but uses a custum-modified font and is also much wider than ascii normally allows.

OSSOM, mate, simply ossom! ♥
You, guys.
Thank you so much for all of your comments, your coup de coeur, your love, your smiles, your hugs, your eyes, your joy, your motivation, your passion, yourself.
I think i can speak for all of the group and tell you that this was a real motherfunking piece of awesome demoparty. Its theme was just fitting completely to everything, and everything was fitting to the theme.
You organizers are wonderful. You guys are wonderful.
We love you so fucking much <3.

I had one of the best party experiences ever this year! Everything ran smooth (as soon as you managed to find extra tables) :D and the atmosphere of the party was simply amazing!

You guys really provided the perfect balance between large scale party and intimate get-together. That's really an amazing job.

Special thanks to all the Poo-Brain guys - You guys are really great and always a party to be around you! And to haomaru as well for being so amazingly generous and downright awesome - I'll definitely do what I can to make your TRSAC visit happen! Also, thanks to everyone I had the pleasure of chatting to, okkie, novel, jco and a heartfelt thanks to gopher who really made my day by spending an hour or more at my place. And thank you so much, Susan and Ruth, for the pork tartar-thingy with raw onion and pepper! That was really fantastic! :D And to dFox for providing fresh coffee only an arm's length away from my place. Oh man, I can't remember all the amazing guys I met and talked to, so sorry if I'm forgetting you.

A final thanks to everyone who voted for my entry in the one-sample compo and ofcourse to everyone who enjoyed the 4k. If in any way possible, I will definitely return next year again, probably in the minibus again ;)

Evoke - doing parties right since 1997! ( + getting better each year). Evoke orgas and attendants, you f*cken rule!! :) This time we did plenty of party coding, and the environment was perfect for that: not too loud, lots of space, great network and service support. Recording our demo was smooth despite us lacking most of the components to do this ;) We found a cheap electronics parts supplier on the main street for the small items and support from orgas and attendants for the big ones. But we didn't forget to party, so many kolschs, stories, handshakes and hugs. The great weather didn't hurt the party experience too (: alk <3s evoke :) See you all next year, I hope! + remember to bring your friends so that next year's compos will be even more Epic (:
cheers everyone

Okay, I'm alive again. Barely :)

Big thanks for yet another fantastic incarnation of my favorite demoparty in the world. The weather was great, there definitely was enough beer to go around and I met a lot of wonderful people. And the competitions... it's always a bit of a hit or miss with smaller parties (though with 500 visitors, it's not exactly small, is it?), but this time the compos truly kicked ass.

I have some small criticisms as well: First of all, as stated here previously, the voting for the last two competitions was closed until way past the "too intoxicated to vote properly"-limit and I wonder how it affected the results. Of course, sometimes shit does hit the fan as I guess was the case here and big props for fixing it, but still. If you look at the points for the demo compo you can see that not quite many people voted for those and also that the margins between the entries are really, really small. The still one is a clear winner, my demo is a fairly clear second but the margins between the rest are tiny.

A related thing was that I at least found it completely impossible to get online with my laptop. The Evoke access point simply didn't work for me at all and by the time we'd gotten there, all the tables were pretty much taken. While this had the upside of making me spend more time with people instead of computers, it also made it hard to vote.

These are really minor gripes though, the main thing was the party, and the party was truly awesome. See you next year!

It appears we picked the right year to attend. Bloody awesome compos.
Met many people, this was good.
Trash Chic vegetarian/vegan restaurant 2 minutes walk from the party place is a major win, as is many nearby hotels. Also like hanging back in cafe area to watch compos. Luxurious.
Oh yeah, two parties I've attended I wasn't able to vote at, one because of network issues, one because of Partymeister. Good parties too, so I was a bit sore.

But the network issue could possibly be solved by adding a slide to the rotation (I f*cking forgot to bring and @party slide, orgafail) that says "Please turn off the wifi on your phones". I saw one that said don't use p2p services but I suspect we had a lot of phonesuck. But maybe there was one about phones too.
That was probably the best Evoke regarding the combination of competiton content, socialising and nice weather.
Was nice to see den lille danske demo bus with all the familiar TRSAC faces :)

Thanks to all blokes who were still jumping late at night to the tunes I've brought, although I managed to screw up several times :/

...you're now one standard Evoke-edition (apprx. 300 people) short of challenging the biggest demø party ;D

One small mistake by me.. I was rushing to leave and forgot to collect my shiny Overdrive poster from the wall before the men's toilets, duhrr..

Did anyone happen to pick it up? Would be very happy to get it back (:

Came home at around 00:45 last night and just completed the first hours of work before lunch - phew, hard times

Most people already said a lot, and I agree on most thinsg said so far.

What left the biggest impression on me, was the combination of calling this years edition "a party with a heart", and getting that exact feeling from the organizers I interacted with (info desk, socializing, compo crew). That's great, and counts a lot to me on a personal basis.

On top of that:
Weather++
Outside area++
Sleeping hall+- (+for relatively silence and space -for having to move your sleeping gear in and out)

general location and setup++ (nice screen+audio and lots of space, however, you probably need some more tables next time)
Sponsered free stuff++ (I really enjoyed fruit, sausages and mettbrötchen)
Lots of stuff close by+ (Didn't really get to take any advantage of it - but still nice to have)

minusses?
Missed a few callouts/shoutouts or similar when compos were delayed, and maybe a bit more "I need to pee and find a beer+chair"-time around compo-start :) - but it really was a minor thing

I got to talk to so many different people especially on friday, which was a blast - greetings to all you (also the ones I chatted with during the rest of the party of course)

And thanks to Punqtured for setting us up with the bus and "luring" us going to Evoke, even if most of us probably couldn't find the time in our calendars ;)

I'll try to see if I can get there in the coming yers, however it will be part of the "positive" problem of reserving time for too many demoparties during a too short time span :)

Also, Being an organizer makes you think about weird stuff: How did 4 toilets (for men) handle 500 visitors without any noticable problems or staus. I literally didn't have to wait more than maybe 1 minute at any point... Maybe I was just lucky :)

Simply: thank you -ALL- for the awesome party!

I had a really great time. I would like to say hello and thank you to:
- organizers, for making a high quality demoparty with a very "cosy" atmosphere
- entry-submitters and winners, for all your hard work - it was nice to compete with you
- everybody who voted for my entries \o/
- all the nice people I met personally for the first time and had a chance to speak to/booze/have fun with together, especially: grx, jco (congrats on the video, it was one big "WOW!"), nekomono, maali, metoikos & dr.claw, dipswitch, keyreal, sim, lnx, knoeki, truck, glxblt and all I have forgotten
- Rovio for the kids/sleeping corner, dg-i for the fruits, guy with the free coffee

Some general remarks/ideas to the Evoke orgas:
- pretty please, put the big screen somewhat -higher- next time (if it's physically possible); it will improve the watching experience for people sitting by the tables
- the WiFi was slow as hell. Personally, I don't care for the quick Internet access at the party place, but even accessing the vote-page was a PITA and I had to try over and over and wait for ages to simply vote productions, which was annoying.
- *more* creative compos like this year's 1-sample tracked - it was like a breath of fresh air :)
- I'm OK with the compo delays, but delayed pricegiving ceremony once again (I'm referring other parties here as well) forced me to leave before I could see it, as I had to catch the return plane. (even better - 12.00 would an optimal hour, at least for me.)
Everything other was like: <3, and I guess it was the point. Excellent job!
