Yo dutchies!

category: code [glöplog]

I'll type this in English, if there are any people other than Dutchies who want to join, it'll be easier if this is typed in English.

I came across this little compo and thought maybe guys here wanted to join. The compo is called 'Elegante algoritmes', or in English: Elegant Algorithms'.

The goal is to recreate the artwork 'Victory Boogie Woogie' by Mondriaan with code.

I can't code myself but I thought maybe there are some here that like a little competition! :-)

Nice!

Well, I guess Elegant Algorithm is just a chosen name any way. As one of the contestants in the example box made a recreation with just HTML and divs. Wouldn't exactly call that an 'algorithm' as well.

Well, the examples show 'something similar', so I guess that'll do!

Agreed, but i'm not the creator of this compo, nor a part of the jury. Just posting this because maybe someone feels like joining! :-)

Antifact is not a Mondriaan art generator. Stop being idiots you guys.

Abstract/modernist artists pioneered cubism etc, and a few such styles are palatable. By contrast, it's pretty cool to think that even if most prods go for non-abstract styles, many pieces of code generated art have already been made that are much more substantial in concept and more attractive and interesting, and Mondrian et al have nothing on those artists.
