- game Amiga OCS/ECS JomanisFlyingSaxofon by The Rocks
- Hi fmd2. Thanks a lot for the updates. Did some background research.
Aha, it is a game with art. Nice idea. But wasn't there a little sax player
- I call him "Prutty" - in the initial version? To be honest, I miss him a
bit. - isokadded on the 2024-04-11 18:13:28
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Backslide to Arcanum by Cosmic Orbs [web]
- Holy crazy sh*t! This was the most exciting release for me at revision
2024. Great effects, appealing graphics, and outstanding(!) music.
It already starts very promising with those nice logo effects; I love a)
the accompanying sound when the 1st logo enters and leaves the
screen and b) this electronic voice whispering "Cosmic Orbs".
The 3D rotozoomer that follows is mesmerizing; looks somehow
different than the rotozoomers I came across so far (some words
about the tech and "screen mode" would be highly appreciated :-) ).
But the highlight is the shear rotator. I already liked those rotators by
Mr. Pet and Kreator back in the days. Then we had this large and
impressive skull rotator in Batman rises (time 4:50) by Rhino end of
2022 and now this breathtaking and exceptional one by Jobbo.
Soooo cool. This demo definitely deserves a place in the hall of fame! - rulezadded on the 2024-04-11 13:17:10
- 128k Amiga OCS/ECS Depeche's Mode Demo by Spreadpoint [web]
- The most elegant (and scientific) looking release at Revision 2024.
Good blending of positive oldschool vibes and modern / timeless
design (decent logo!). Music fits very nicely.
I had never heard of Voronoi cells / diagram before. Okay, so there is
also an educational aspect attached to this release - at least for me.
By the way, first I thought the mentioning of Big Brother was a joke
and Depeche had used it as synonym for himself (catchword: Big
Brother is watching you) but as I could find out, Big Brother was an
early and gifted member of Spreadpoint. So, what is going on here?
Is he back, too?
P.S.: And what about Lord? Hope he will be back with the next
release(s). - rulezadded on the 2024-04-10 12:04:34
- 4k Amiga OCS/ECS 4 seasons by Binary
- Really nice and smooth voxel landscape with soothing music. And the
icing on the cake is it's only 4k. Amazing. Simply a/b quality! I hope
there will be more from this lonewolf in the future. - rulezadded on the 2024-04-09 18:14:48
- cracktro Amiga OCS/ECS Face the Music by Spreadpoint [web]
- Interesting and never seen before. But I am wondering if the jerks are
on purpose? Had the same idea for a scroller (with textured blitter
lines) back then and observed these - in my case unwanted - periodic
jumps during the rotation; never got it right. In retrospective I would
speculate that the order of loading BLTBDAT and BLTCON0 was wrong
and / or that loading of BLTCON1 with shift values was neglected. But
fortunately never had to face the music :-) - rulezadded on the 2024-04-09 18:08:28
- dentro Amiga OCS/ECS Rebirth by Binary
- Nice Rebirth-tro with neat design and mesmerizing Blitter tornado. I
also like the catchy / jaunty music. And hey, a jumping Amiga
ball...what more could one want? - rulezadded on the 2024-02-13 16:23:54
- 1k Amiga OCS/ECS Glenz 1k by Desire [web]
- Two words: "gigabates rocks!"
- rulezadded on the 2024-02-12 19:23:57
- 40k Amiga OCS/ECS A Murder Of Scrolls by Andromeda [web]
- Convincing minimalistic and functional Scandinavian design paired with
a nice and well-fitting tune. The scroller action looks sooo smooth and
the greetings part is captivating, too; it reminds me of PMC's infinity
zoomer from the early 90s.
Thanks a lot for this rejoicing release which set me in an excited mood;
felt a bit like a child on Christmas :-) - rulezadded on the 2024-02-04 13:33:32

Quote:...make a demo about it...
I am not a Platon, i.e., I do not have the knowledge and talent to
create such technically well-made demos. But even if I had the skills
I would be reluctant to deal with political / historical topics in a demo
since I (personally) would always be afraid of that I might have
missed, misunderstood or left out an important and crucial point -
regardless of how much I read up. Call me a coward :-)
Quote:...as long as it doesn't imply there is an equivalence between an atrocity...
I thought about it and somewhow I don't feel comfortable. To me it
sounds a bit like it is more tolerable and less bad if atrocities are
committed by terrorists. I would prefer to say if a state is commiting
those crimes then the state is not any better than the terrorists.

Quote:...to water it down...
I understand what you mean. But still I (personally) have problems
and do not want to separate the one from the other (see also bsp's
comment, 2024-01-22 00:08:43). My (imaginery) demo would have
had a split screen showing the murdering, killing, and suffering of
both sides. But with that, I guess, the statement would be a slightly
other one than in "is real".

Quote:The best chance for peace came to a sudden end when Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated...
I fully agree with that.
Final words:
It was very interesting and informative to read through the
comments and to discuss with you. Made me thinking. Peace. - isokadded on the 2024-01-26 12:53:54

Quote:It's not about a conflict in the past
Thanks for pointing this out. I know. And you are right, most of my
thoughts were not strictly demo-related and rather a (superficial)
pondering about the conflict in general. But what I wanted to say
and is important to me was:
Quote:One must not forget what preceded and led to the current outrage.
And with that I mean what happened on 7 October 2023. These
victims should not be forgotten. - isokadded on the 2024-01-25 15:22:56
