Very hard to say what effect indeed, and looks very good. Well done for a 4k invitation. Perfect. Though it crashes on my nvidia 7600, maybe lack of dx drivers etc, still a very strong thumb up.

Quite's demos and procedural graphics are always extremely impressive. The very fact that people are asking if this has an end shows how well executed and captivating it is.

The simple yet dynamic nature of the visuals and sound makes this feel way more interesting than it really is - which in a way is what 4k is all about for me - an experience beyond the sum of its parts.

Wow, this is basically the same effect I played around with about 15 years ago on my a500+genlock+videocam+monitor+videomixer setup. Analog video feedback-o-rama! Cool to finally see it done as a demo, and then even in 4k. Hypnotic indeed.

Very cool! I like the way how you think it's getting boring but then it manages tp keep up your interest by slightly switching the effect flavor. Should come with an epilepsy warning though ;)

I never like thumbing things down, because i allways try to see the work and ideas, inspiration behind it, but this time i have to do!
It´s nothing else then disturbing. The sound, well, Gophers' synth also produces that sounds - by mistake... The aim should be to create instruments that sound real, imho...
The effect is nice, yes... But not running 5 minutes...

I've been waiting for a scene prod with this type of feedback/automata stuff.. I have played with it a lot (sharpen/blur/emboss repeatedly applied to an image does things like this) and I always thought it would be a brilliant demo effect. Can't wait to see the next one!
U might also like to try something cool which is generating a warp field using a fractal (eg mandelbrot or julia) iteration - this can give a flow field that generates a fractal!!
