If you have an Amiga with PPC then this one is simply a *must* - in my eyes it's 'The Product' for Amiga and simply rules!

Probably the best release at mekka this year ! Really great atmosphere during the compo :)
true true true. fukkin great. best release in 2002 so far
omg potion really did it again, this one is impressive and one of the two best amiga intros ever (well, together with gift/potion :D )
...words escape me with this one. A new superlative has to be made for it.
I'd sooner call it the 'Stash' for the Amiga (they have the same 2nd-part thing) but nothing can really describe just how bloody cool this intro is. Very impressive!
bestever. no words to describe.
Only a few seconds after the intro was shown: Screaming, jumping, shouting, standing ovations... for minutes... awsome.
Anyone who can make a divx PLEASE?
yay, someone make a divx, i've got the webspace :)
mindblasting intro, lots of effects squeezed into 64k, *and* a vocoder!

this is just awesome...
Keep on doing these kind of intros! please!!!
Only thing I'm missing is another 68k production from you guys. And skip should really be given a record-deal soon ;)
Respect!

Really great Intro. This rocks da house.
But I will not run on my Amiga 4000 (CSPPC+CVPPC). I don`t know why. :(
But I will not run on my Amiga 4000 (CSPPC+CVPPC). I don`t know why. :(
DJBase -- it runs on A4000 with CSPPC+CVPPC!! The compomachine was exactly the same... BTW -- thanks to ALL for the positive reactions =)) Luvya all!
amazing, simply amazing
Let's see a DivX of this, after reading the comments I want to see it!
skipp604 : no, it will not run. warpOS crashes during the start. i was not able to run it on my machine. if have testet it with different versions of cgx, warpos, flash and os. it still crashes.
we got it working on some ppc machines at mekka.. notice it needs ahi soundlib (is it called that ?:) to be nice
I shouted my ass off when it ended. These guys are just too good for everyone, bow and respect them.
I am still on my back, this intro was the highest point of ms2002.
Please do the divx thing ! (and email me :)
Please do the divx thing ! (and email me :)
Hm, i have ahi installed (my prelude need that). This is the only Demo from Mekka`02 which will not run. So, what`s wrong ?
i've only seen this only once at the party so i don't remember it very clearly, but the 2nd part seem to rule more than 1st. And I love the vocoder!! Bukkakee!!!
PLANEEEEEEET POOOTIOOOOOON!!!
amidemos.org presents: thevideo, recorded live from the bigscreen at ms02 by emoon/TBL :)
best 64k... ever... :)
i was so fucking impressed
absolutely awesome !
pc dudes go get an emu to watch it
it just roxx0r§§§§§§§§§§

aaaw! now i have to buy a ppc-board for my a1200. screw you people!! :)
God dammit.
Last year they embarrassed us with Lapsuus. But we still had our 64k intros like FR-08 and Heaven7. Now they have to embarrass us in 64k. Lesson to PC guys - this is what you're capable of when you spend more than a few hours designing a demo (erm or intro).
And stil, please hook me up with a PPC emulator if you can find one.

how the hell did you do that???
textures, meshes and sound generators, software render, vocoder, design... 64k... WOAH!! I luv it :)
I would be very pleased if someone can send me a CD with this intro, Little Nell/TBL and Global Trash 2 as mpg or divx video. The Castle/Loonies would be also nice ;). Downloading takes to much time with 64k and I have not the money for online time. Snail mail address via email ...
mmm i love watching a 64k intro from a 64MB avi ;)
this intro shines by its active and mesmerizing flow .. every scene stays just the right amount of time -- especially in those clicheish scenes (factory type ones at the end of part 1)
It is scene-packed and i just love that speech synth ;)

A-mi-ga! A-mi-ga! A-mi-ga! A-mi-ga!
I am just afraid of what these guys could do with some PC hardware like 2ghz + Geforce3. They are definitely too good for everyone.
Just saw the video recorded live from ms2002 (low quality which is understandable).
BUT OH MY GOD, WHAT AN INTRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome code, fab music and most impressive is the FANTASTIC DESIGN. These guys from potion are not from this world!!!!! The best intro ever. Amiga is still in da house!!!!!!!!!!!!

god mode
Anyone wanna swap an Amiga for this PC thing I'm sitting at right now ? ;)
Just a-ma-zing.
All the crowd went crazy at m&s when showing this intro, making it the party's greatest moment.
All we can do is bow and show respect, you guys rule :)

great work.. personally i liked the speech synthesizer the most.. i dont think i have seen (heard) that in a 64k before.
Just passing by and paying well-due respects
Respect and admiration are indeed due. This is the most complete and impressive 64K ever (on any platform). The scripting is awesome, the demo flows and changes styles with perfect rythm.
The speech synth is one of those "why the fuck didn't I think of that earlier" ideas.
Back to the drawing board, my idea of "amazing" has changed once again.

too bad, that's the quality i of the video is so crappy. anyway the intro seems to be great.
My god, they killed ms2002
gu blguhh gugu.. .. ouch... x')_
A M I G A rulez!
shit, i have to buy a better amiga to watch this everyday.
Jesus H. Christ!
this is simply fuckin' awesome!
swell design along with a huge amount of details. division in two parts works and music is good in both parts. res++

this 64k blasts everything, 200% respect.
this gives me the sudden urge to masturbate untill i am dead
ouch.
but please, don't forget that the castle (2nd place) was m68k, while this one is ppc. they both rock like hell IMHO.

Whooaa awesome!! We need more intros like this one on PC platform too :D
damn right :)
This 64k-intro kicks ass!!!!! Even better than "the product"...and this on the Amiga...perfect!!
Men ! This one really kick ass ! Never seen before and as always "Only Amiga Make It Possible". A must have !
I nearly forgot it was 64k 8)
have only seen it on video, but I am longing _badly_ to see it realtime!! omfg ;)
ps: farbrausch - time to make something that piss on the amiga scene again :P
oh man, massive respect!

this intro is the BEST release on ms2k2 indeed! and believe me, it was fucking great to watch it on the big screen on mekka. ROXX!
a universe in 64k ... on an amiga ... true, true
potion : you´ve done a great job ! makes me a bit jealous, after kb didn´t finish his speech synthesizer for fr013 .... i wanted the creatures to sing in a chorus so badly, oh well.....
excuse me now, i have to buy a ppc card for my amiga...:)

And by the way.
Hit me if you want, but when will someone do a PC/Windows port? Amiga/PPC is nice and well, but people without an Amiga can't even watch such demos in emulators, and DivX etc suck IMHO.

/me hits ryg
ryg> why a windows port? its targeted against PPC Amiga and not PC .. it would most likely be a pain in the butt unless they wrote everything in C/C++ .. and well it was coded by polish guys ;)
plus it would take a 500mhz intel machine to have the same power as the 233mhz risc (if im not mistaken).
that's most definitely the best amiga intro i've seen this year so far. thumbs up to potion, their other prods rock aswell. (not like this one though. =)
Apart from the 'realistic' scenes I think this is a cool intro. However, before falling over eachother praising the speech synth I should point out that Franky and Shiva had one in of their Void 4k intros. Ah well.
A nice intro, certainly not 'the best ever' or anything though.
A nice intro, certainly not 'the best ever' or anything though.
Hear all those jaws hitting the floor?
potion rulez :))
Why port it to PC?
It will lose all its magic then (it's impressive mainly because it's on Amiga. On a PC, the 3d would not be impressive etc).
It might not even fit in 64k then either.
I think it should be left as-is.
Although a better DivX recording is welcome ofcourse :)

Ofcourse it wouldn't be the same, and it doesn't have to be 64k on PC. But I think it really sucks that even most people who actually DO own an Amiga can't watch this (anyone got stats how farspread PPC cards are?). And even more so considering that there are no Amiga PPC emulators yet.
Atleast I don't really know what I should think about a production I can only see once on the compo (or the coders') machine and from then on only as DivX or similar recordings.

maybe productions like this will make amiga folks buy ppc cards :)
however.. making an emulator PPC would be like.. slow :)
make an emulator for it on the mac tho.. could be cool ;D

i actually *wanted* to buy a ppc some months ago, but they aren't in production anymore and it's really very difficult to get one of those used (at least for 1200 w/060). rare stuff :)
holy shit :)
(and I hope people rip off the idea for the vocoder - because it rocks :)

I watched the divx yesterday.. Oh yeah, I didn't remember that it was so good. PLANEET BUKKAKEE!!
wow... now i'm depressed...
"the product" is a dumb shit next to this one... even if it's easier to code on amiga with all the extensions, the technique is still impressive... and there's a design!!!! not a simple flybye :D
But I'm agree with the idea of PC port, even if it doesn't fit in 64K... maybe a "deluxe" PC version (higher poly 3d...)
Btw, these polish guys are amazing... respect!

robotriot> really? no one continues to manufacture them? damn...also thought about getting one...grmpft
of course void3 had it way before this one, only in planet potion we can actually understand what they are saying.
whereas in void3 you can only 'hear' it once you know what is being said ;)

shameless self promotion: I also had a vocoder-based speechsynth in an intro before: click here :)
But ego aside, this one is really really REALLY amazing. Definitely.

don't forget this one. hehe :)
raven: yea, i mailed all major german amiga shops (vesalia, eternity, mmd and kdh). cyberstorm ppcs should still be available though. gotta buy an a4000 :/
Well this one was pretty damn cool. The only little minus is the 'quake' part in the middle. Without it this would have been even cooler.

damn i hate this. ever since last week i've been getting stupid double or triple posts on pouet... must. blame. cookies. for. no. apparent. reason...
if there had been a combined intro competition at MS2k2 this definitely would have been the winner. or at least should have been. one of the best intros i've ever seen.
What can I say?
Mindblowing, and a definite RULEZ.
Seeing is Believing.

Fucking amazing realisation. Major respects for Potion boys ... looking forward to see more @ Assembly
Very well done, pals!

Nothing will ever beat this. another reason to kick myself for not doing the annual pilgramige to the mekka.
Better quality movie of this demo:

And one with alternative soundtrack:

Recorded by Zer0-X from a projector screen, much better than the earlier CRT recording (also by Zer0-X, despite other rumours I read :).
Enjoy :)

Oh my god!
This is fucking cool, everything flows very well, the factory scene that ends part 1 kicks some elitebrausch ass.. part 2 is an extravaganza of commercial 90's design but, combined with that kickass vocoder/speechsynth, a huge pleasure as well :)
So since it's already PowerPC, how about porting it to Mac OS X? I'd kill (well almost) to watch this on my Mac :)

not that it makes this less cool.. but i feel a bit twisted about the "technically stunning" thing..
note that this runs on a 233mhz ppc with a permediaII (correct me if i'm wrong.. or maybe this wasn't used). but considering the polycount i dont think an intro like this is impossible on for example a 266mhz pc.
oh excuse me :)

Don't overestimate a PermediaII.
It's a REALLY slow card. Slower than a Voodoo 1.
And a 233 MHz PPC is not all that much when you have to do T&L and music synthesis, and all that in 64k too.
I don't think a 266 MHz PC would be able to drive the synth of fr-08 alone :) (I know it ran like crap on my PII 400 with a G450 :)
So any polycount at all would be welcome :)
I say this intro remains technically stunning until someone proves otherwise with a better intro.

uhm. the music synth. is most likely _NOT_ realtime, so that could basicly be done on any machine (even your c64).
By the way, the DivX were recorded from the following machine:
A1200 with Blizzard PPC 603e @ 200, 68040 @ 30 (yes overclocked:-)
So it's quite a bit slower than the compo machine (A4000 with PPC 604e @233MHz and 68060 @ 50)

really amazing what people can do on the amiga these days..
activator: still, not the same Amiga where you used to run Mental Hangover...

64k border DOES have to do with that.
They can't optimize all code for speed.
Small code is usually slow code.
If you know ASM, you know exactly what I mean.
These people crammed a LOT of stuff in 64k, so I assume they didn't have enough room to unroll and speed-optimize all their code.
And get a clue about how slow a 200 MHz 603e and a Permedia2 really is.

i damn well know asm, and unrolling loops is the last thing you'd do to optimize the speed =) smart thinking and correct placement and usage of instructions will do. if you won't buy it from me, ask somebody like jace :)
a lot of stuff you say? come on this isn't THAT much code.
i got a clue :) now you open your eyes and see how blocky the meshes actually are :)

Uhhh, the key to unrolling loops is that you can process multiple iterations in parallel, and pair them up nicely. Which covers your 'correct placement and usage of instructions'.
But apparently you've never coded ASM, let alone PPC ASM.
And do you remember how blocky Quake 1 was?

Um, what has Quake got to do with anything? (Except that it's 6 years old, unaccelerated and ran on a P90)
GLQuake is about the only thing simple enough for a Permedia2 or Voodoo1 to pull off at a decent resolution/framerate.
I don't think so. Turok/Need For Speed 2 SE come to mind.
gaymores!
"But apparently you've never coded ASM"
you're absolutely right.
i think 7 years of experience with x86 assembly is far from enough to form a sane opinion about the subject.
and indeed
quake even ran (at a bit slow framerate) on my 486.
you're comparing cows with bulls.

melw: grayscale? :)
Scale: maybe, but this framerate here can't be called decent either...
Permedia 2 is a little slower than voodoo1 in fillrate, but faster in
poly setup etc.
And in general you are not sacrificing speed for code size in a 64k,
especially not when you have lots of free space as in this one...

plek: About the ASM.. You've proven that yourself, by saying that 'unrolling loops is the last thing you'd do to optimize the speed'. I don't care how long you've been coding ASM. It's about HOW you code it :)
Besides, x86 ASM is not quite the same as PPC ASM. PPC is a streamlined RISC beast. You approach it in an entirely different way.
But it goes too far to explain all that right here. If you're interested, ask me sometime. I love talking about the PPC, great CPU :)
As for the 486 statement... CPU is not exactly important. I meant the amount of polys/fillrate of the 3d card.
Quake is low-poly enough for a 486 to do the setup, I guess, so the CPU won't be the bottleneck.
As for comparing cows with bulls... Aren't you?
You may have forgotten how low-poly Voodoo 1 demos were?
I haven't, I have been playing with my PowerVR PCX2 card only a few days ago, and it was quite disastrous. We've come a long way since those early 3d cards.
Note also that it uses multitexturing (for specular highlights etc) and textures with alphachannel...
That sort of stuff eats performance aswell.
Well anyway, why bother discussing it any longer. It was the best 64k intro at MS 2k2, and for a good reason. If one person finds it low-poly count, that doesn't change anything.

maybe i could give a thumb for some techie aspect.. (beats dp08 for sure) but then again that would be unfair since ianaa and otherwise this is just some slightly above average trendcrap. hah.
and fix those goddamn normals. i hate to see that kind of highlights on flat surfaces.

quake was software scali :) and a lot more than just tnl.
but hey.. lets stop this discussion and conclude that YOU MISTER, ARE A HOMO :)

GLQuake was not software, but OpenGL hence the GL in the name.
Which incidentally has nothing to do with my sexual preference.

you were literally referring to quake:
"Quake is low-poly enough for a 486 to do the setup, I guess, so the CPU won't be the bottleneck."
and there's homo in every single one of us!

I was referring to Quake, the game.
However I did also mention GLQuake once.
Besides, we were discussing 3d accelerators.
So it should be painfully obvious that I was referreing to the accelerated version, and NOT the software version.
By the way, I am speaking about the 64k intro called Planet Potion, in case that was not obvious either.
And yes, mavey makes another good point, bvisionbus is not exactly hot.
PCI is 32 bit wide @ 33 MHz by the way, so you have 133 MB/s theoretical speed.

looking 4ward seeing this one under amigaOS4 running on new modern ppc-hardware! good thing they chose warpOS.
Best intro I've ever seen!
Wow, kicks ass. Really kicks ass. When I watched this intro for the first time really impressed me (voice coder rulez A LOT), and the second, and the third, and ever.
A must see. Watch it. Now.
A must see. Watch it. Now.
darn i missed amiga intro compo at mekka but should leech video then hum hum...
as about assembler thingies, you can generate your unrolled loops easy once 64k file is executed just like generating objects, textures and music and speech etc.. and it can be slow like hell too if one can wait a little bit before intro really starts.. and then, the replayer should be fast ofcourse. well, everyone knows that. whatever. asm just rocks =]
Thanx to digisnap for putting this piece of art together with 'Little Lell' and 'Demoskope' on a CD. Now I can enjoy it, too :)
I was a little disappointed to hear that this didn't run on 68k, but it's pretty good anyway... :)
E-phi-dre-na :-)
This is nice..... strange that no one have mentioned that the "quake" part is directly stolen from Kasparov... and I think it's even better than kasparov :) because they get it done nice and fast, while you get boored after 1 min of watching kasparov... Good Work..!!!
Nothing to add.
My absolute fav intro, even better than heaven7 :)
Not just because it's F*CKING AMAZING what they crammed into 64k, also because it has a really great design and a perfect soundtrack. I guess I would also love it if it wasn't 64k.

Would somebody be so kind to share a detailed credits-list with me? (Who made what?)
this is rather boring, especially the 3d part in the middle. still, the design is quite ok and the speech synth is just delicious - so thumbs up anyway :)
warp:
hmm, that's very interesting, because the intro consist of only TWO parts...

uh babes this is sooooo burning ...
since there isnt any decent video capture from this video,
and i am not going to buy a ppc within the next ten years,
i would like to encourage the guys from potion to do a proper
video themselves (please!!! :))
since - as far as i know - this is opengl based rendering, this is usually pretty easy
(just add glReadPixels() and savebmp() to your source and run virtualdub afterwards ;)
oh, and yes, this thing _is_ really nice! :)

yep, still looking for a high quality divx myself :( (and i think a lot of other people do too)
Was absolutely great on the big screen.
Indeed the most impressive production on ms2k2 by far! It's a shame that I can only watch it on video...
wow!
can i add another thumbs up, daddy?
Good work guyz! :)
I can't believe I haven't voted for this until now.
Anyway, this is certainly among the best intros ever created.

very cool design and i just love the music :)
impressive.
impressive.
stylish....has some very nice moments...
Thumbs up...
Thumbs up...
good on all counts - music, speech synth, kasparov recreation, and above all design. excellent. i want a windows port too. maybe fR & potion could collaborate on it. or maybe it should just be left as an incredible advertisement for the ppc amigas... they're making more of those now, right?
_nice_
Amazing.. i love specilly the elektro-music... pla - net - po - tion... :D!!!!!!!!!!!!!
C= Almighty
t0tal 0wnage. Complete 0wnage. My god Amiga rules and this just ... I mean. How? And.. just. wow.
I always knew Amiga was better than PC for a long time, but...
This looks like a 2001 PC demo, and it's a 2003 Amiga INTRO, for crying out loud. Even IF it's PPC...
Simply stunning! And the voice-synth is better than the one that came with the Kickstart 1.3 disk...
Major Rulez!

1st part is design, but too empty with good music
2nd part with these ugly yellow-black bars sucks, boring fly bye without any interest
3rd part, electro part, is very good and need to be viewed!
thumb up for the size and 3rd part

I've been watching the divx a lot of times, and to me that's the best 64k intro on any platform. Not only Potion manage to pack an impressive amount of stuff in the small filesize, but the intro is also very entertaining to watch (the effects are varied and never last too long) and very well designed. And the speech synthesis rules :)
is this really an amiga with such graphics ?
pype: well, it's not an amiga CPU and it's not an amiga graphics chip, but there is an amiga logo on the case and some of the old hardware is still needed to boot the machine before the powerpc and the 3d-accelerated hardware take over :-)
about the way, this can't run on mediator/voodoo3 i think ?;) (i have warpos crushes on a1200/voodoo3/603eppc). need only bvision/cgx ? who run it on real amiga, plz give your config, etc. thnx.
Better and more impressive 64kb intro I´ve seen ever.
Two incredible parts with very very good design and a perfect music. Vocoder rulez too.
All here is an example of the good way for Demoscene.
My respects.

I found a better capture of it here, it's not very fast so I'm uploading to scene.org/incoming now, done in 30 minutes.
The intro is great.
The intro is great.
Just watched the DivX, brings back memories. Maybe I should buy an Amiga.
got to add one thumb up here.
Yeah, this one kicks serious arse!!
But I still want a version that works on Voodoo-cards and AHI so that I could watch it on my Pegasos. So how about it? Please? Pretty please? Pretty pretty please with sugar on top? :)

most beautiful music ever ever ever ever on the scene!!!!
talking about music... would be nice to have all the songs for the intros (incl. gift and future visions) uploaded as well :)
and maybe the binaries too.
oh what the hell, just _make a proper site_ with all your cool stuff :))

gargaj, surprise: http://skipp.ras.pl
well, it's not only demo-stuff as i just noticed =)
it's everything but demo-stuff.
gonna check it out tho... :)
gonna check it out tho... :)
Skip, thanks for that music and congrats again :) BTW, i most prefer part 2 of the music (see Nectarine!), but that part is not played in this intro :))
one of the best intros that I´ve seen in any platform.
super
Not a lot you can say that hasn't already been said :) Best 64k on any platform
Awesome!
Best Intro(demo) ever made! Everything on highest level - music, efects, and of course design! This Intro shows the worth of Amiga!
.
Technically very good, but the design is boring.
perfect
Simply great! Amiga rulez ... ;P
love that vocoder
ELECTRO !!!! VOCODERS !!! AMIGA !!!!
for an Amiga 64Kb, it fucking rules.
ELEKTRONIK MOOSIK!
Fucking impressive!
nice music, nice speech synth, impressive amount of stuff in 64k, good design, overall... its a killer intro :) And all running on amiga boot-up hardware ;)
Hey where's my thumb? :)
rocks
This popularity system is screwed up. It only registers 6 percent, despite 117 "rulez", and ZERO thumb downs.
Technically, this might be more impressive than gift. To be honest however, I still prefer Gift though =)

amiga kicking pcee asses so hard!
nezbie: for the umpteenth time, the popularity system is NOT related to the thumbs, just the page views.
damn good prod, cool sound, great style it is a perfect multipart demo in 64k on Amiga.
OK on PPC but anyway many demos on real PC didn't look so cool ;-)

it's supercool
Supergood.
As i saw this the first time i nearly cannot believe it.
The advanced 'SAM' Phonetics :) especially in the greetings fits perfectly.

is there a chance to get this running on a pegasos...?
absolutely great!
however - although i'm not an amiga expert :) - i guess it's a little bit slow...

Everything has been said.
very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very good. and that's only part i.
A good production, I especially like part 2. Was quite impressive at the big screen.
whoa
I am a dumb idiot because i haven't thumbed up this yet, and you can uncensor my posts here.
*bump*
I'm a bit late to comment that, but anyway. Even 3 years after its release, this intro is still better than the majority of 64k. There's no better way to promote a platform (Amiga for that matter) than releasing such a production.
end of transmission
end of transmission
Jihaaa! Impressive.
This is what Amiga is about.
This is what Amiga is about.
Its good made in some parts. Others I do not like and most are simply too long and get boring.
A lot to see for a 64k though.
A lot to see for a 64k though.
RCL to put it mildly it is not right. Better one 64k intro for roughly developing Amiga, than 100 1G wild demo for rotting PC... Though from Poland much sees on another.. =)
this is cool. wow, i didn't comment before.
rules like hell! Great, great work boys!!!
Cool
some errors in the archive :|
oh fuck !
oh yeeea. good production. !! brillant !!
good music, code and graphics.

just super! design!!!
Very impressive for its size. Too bad that I don't own an Amiga-PPC/RTG to see it in realtime.
i second Broderick
wonderful intro with astonishing design & code.
and MUSIC (of course)
totally awesome!
never commented this, very cooool one!
Can't believe I missed this one - awesome.
Really impressive!

Welcome to Planet Potion.
well designed and great soundtrack!
any way to get the music somewhere???
Best of AMIGA INTRO !
simply rox.
forgot to thumb this master piece!
Really liked part 2.
Almost made me forget it was a 64k :). And damn, on Amiga (even if it's a PPC) ...
puts many PC 64ks to shame.
Yeah.
Real piece of art !!!
Great
:)
:)
Yeah. This totally rules. The first part is a bit of letdown because of long flyby, but second part rocks so much, I forgot the flyby! :D
You must be really ugly darkfuckers to force me to vote for the intro that is not a PC production.
oh my holy fucking god! that's an amazing intro! outstanding job!
Great demo. Second part is really good.
A better video wouldn't hurt though.
A better video wouldn't hurt though.
Good memories with this one. Starting with taking a bus from Poland to Mekka (first scene party ever -- not bad!) which circled around the country picking up all these fun/crazy Polish sceners... Rumors on the bus that Mavey had made some kind of amazing intro with a speech synth. Then seeing it on screen and, wow! After it showed, all those guys ran over to Mavey and I think Skip and more or less carried those guys out on their collective shoulders. Fucking awesome.
Ready for Part 2 ? :)
Big ups for the music !
wad_: I remember how the tp93 bus from Germany to Denmark almost fell down a slope. Plus I had never seen that much snow in my life before ;)

extremely cool. 2002 was the year of the vocoder.

W-T-F. 64k? Impossible!
Bite my lazy arse for not yet commenting and thumbing this.
Shit, I remember the pandemonium after the "end of transmission".

Potion! Come baaack!
Indeed
planet potion!
I was waiting so long to play this intro on my Amiga. I am impressed how this is possible. Excellent music, design, graphics, speed optimization and even 2 different parts.
Simply two thumbs up!
That intro just *BLASTED* everybody during the compo.
Me too.
Me too.
forgotten thumb in your face!
massive!
missing thumb!
ELITEEEE!!!!!!!!
it didnt run on my ppc with aga chipset :/
@thomas
as it's written in nfo file - it's ppc/gfcard stuff

Plain wow, very well designed and all in only 64kB. :-)
I'll admit I'm not as hyped for Planet Potion as I once was for fr-08 and fr-019, but technically it feels far superior to both; in fact it still feels on par with many present-day PC 64ks. Half a kingdom for a proper video capture! :(
What the actual fuck, that blew my mind that this is done on an Amiga.. mwoar.. the fuck O_o
fgtn thumb
What? I have missed to thumb this up.
Oh and let's reply to and 10 year old comment :) I really don't think I recorded it from the bigscreen. It really looks to be recorded of a CRT screen... I also have no memory what so ever that I recorded it but oh well :)
But yeah. Proper video

bilinear filtering is ugly but other than that this is somewhere in the realm of "perfect"
True classic!
masterpiece
<3. Another missing thumb up.
Great intro. First saw in 2003, on my OC BPPC@~220MHz and BVision was much faster then on YouTube.
I think everything has been said about this masterpiece :) Missing strong thumb up!
I remember how everyone was stunned after watchingist. And then Part II started... O_O
RULEZ!
I still remember seeing this live. Awesome!
A masterpiece !
Classic
IMBOSIBRU :)
Even the part 1 goes thumb up no questions asked :)
\o P L A N E T . P O T I O N o/. A true masterpiece, that still holds up. I wish there was a better quality recording of it.
one of the best 64k intros ever made
i saw it live. oh man... the pinnacle of MS2k2
How come I've missed that one? Whoever seen it live at MS2k2 will understand :)
never too late to appreciate :)
For the first time since 2002 - I give you a high quality grab in 1:1 640x480 resolution with remastered true 16bit/44kHz FLAC audio:
http://natami.pl/potion/Potion-PlanetPotion-640x480-H264+FLAC.mkv
I hope you enjoy, it took me several tries to get this right.
still awesome!
yeah
The pinnacle of the short lived PowerPC Amiga (demo)scene. There were good ones before and after, but nothing comes close to this.
Still happy that I was able to see this live back then.
PPC!!!
Still - all times favoritue!!!
cool
why did i forgot to thumb this up
also is the part 2 soundtrack of this demo unused (the psytrance one)
also is the part 2 soundtrack of this demo unused (the psytrance one)
@FlashyYNT - no, the psytrance part was unfortunately left out (no space, no effects, no time before deadline). However, most of the sample code from it was used by Phatwoman in "Future Visions", though.
So I'm going to be the one everyone hates for thumbing this one down?
Obviously I think it's not the same platform if you swap out the platform, so of course it's unfair that this even competed with Amiga 64Ks.
Apart from that, this is the same demo style as in 1998 with the same standard drab demoish graphical style, now at twice the resolution and lower framerate.
However, the music is fine and they've fitted this in 64K, which moderates my thumb to a horizontal position and I will breathe deeply and focus on my Dantian.

Just watched this for the first time on my own hardware, and of course it still rules hard!
I can't believe I haven't upvoted it yet.
Very good stuff.
Best 64k ever!
classic Amiga 64k
wow
Fond memories, love it.
