oops, forgot to make the image a bit smaller :)

that aside, no, there was no musicdisk compo at evoke, I entered it in the wild compo mainly to let people know it was released.

on the production itself: it was made in the last 2 months and would've included some not-yet-released tunes if our musicians had had enough time... as it is, it could've been better, and I apologize for the winamp'esque-ness of the interface, but overall i'm satisfied.

this is one of the reasons why we're planning a size limited musiccompo at underscore2k3 ( ~20-30KB with replayer) :)

nearly all our intros have really low cpu usage (except for sound). only exceptions are fr010 and fr019, the former for having rather sucky code :), the latter for doing many cpu-calculated effects.

While driving with Yoda/FR on the way to MS2001, he shared with me some ideas the group had, among them a 64k musicdisk. A year and a half later, the wait is finally over. I was hoping for some new, exclusive tracks, but having enough intro music and a WAV writer means that a Farbrausch's greatest hits CD is finally possible :). It's cool that I'm not the only one who prefers the party version of the FR-019 music. But what's with that fake-WinXP bar? Oh well. Now let's make some ViruzII music outside of demoparties, so we don't have to wait another 2 years for the next one! :)

the DL link is bad because the zip file contain a html file :(
do true links wich can be used with download accelerators please!
download accelerator for a 64k zip file?
we are currently switching to a new server and can only upload html files on the old farb-rausch.com url, so for now, a html-file that forwards to the new location via frame is about the best we can do.

So i downloaded this 64k prod with standard process, i will comment it in the future :)

A 64kb musicdisk is a great idea. The interface could look better, but as a GUI it works and doesn't hog up system resources like some bloated msxdisks do . Songs are quite cool, even though I never liked fr-08's music that much. Have to thumb up farbrausch ...grr.

Naaah, we normally don't use that kind of hacks.

Heavily hurts compatibility and normally isn't worth it - this musicdisk has only plain, straight, documented Win32 API usage :)

I can't believe I didn't comment this before...
The music rocks.
Having it in a seekable musicdisk is great.
Having all their music in 64kb is even better, plus the comments in the scroller about the demos & music, and the .wav writer make this a must-have prod.
The only downside is the picture in the vu-meter...
And how do you get to the hidden part with the fr-020 music?

this is the best musicdisc, i have ever seen ;-)

*the file is only 64 kb small
*the interface is best, and has status and volume pitchers

and the 11 songs are very different, so there should be something for everyone.

my favourite is the uplift-song 7 from the fr14-intro garbage collection. it's the uplift-trance sound, i' did prefer.

the sound quality is fantastic for the small size :-)

special thanks for this god-prod from farbrausch, especially to my hero "kb" ;-)

therefore quality made in germany...
