Stylish and well done.
Just great! Really nice graphics and design.
really nice! great gfx, design o en jättebra låt!
Looks very nice, but a bit too boring for my taste. Liked the previous moppi prods better
!!!!!!!!! amazing rendering, amazing idea, original! great work!
Go ahead, take a ticket for the "ix tour".
cool!!!! i love the design :D
great stuff
Interesting but slow.
Ops!... i can't see nothing but a black screen.. Demopaja is not working in my machine.
(AthlonXP - Win2k - Radeon 9000)... :_(
(AthlonXP - Win2k - Radeon 9000)... :_(
oh i LOVE it !
wow
this is fantastic!!! runs smooth, great visuals, very experimental...
masterpiece!!!!
masterpiece!!!!
< 1fps here. And for the 3rd time in a row, 2nd place for moppi in a asm demo compo. :)
simply rocks!
Should have won... But what can you do when you have a hall full of guagers...
!
great
Stunning design.
And of course, thumbs up!
It looks ok, but runs at something like 1 frame per minute here.
Excellent stuff! Originality, good design and visual flow in a same package. I'm sorry for the second place, but at least this year you can't blame Haujobb for it. :)
mad skillz of disain.
cot! cot!
really good use of NPR
really good use of NPR
Loved it. Droll and cool.
Indeed very mature, moppi doesn't try here either to show off code (many examples in the compo) or try to win via an appeal to nostalgia or pop reference. (doomsday's lego demo and melon's)
Too bad that costs them the winning places, but in the long run it's much more worthwhile

Excellent demo. Should've won.
Original and brave design. More of a designer demo (like all Moppi prods) than the type of demos I like most, but still, thumbs up. Better than the winner IMO
Radeon 9800 with latest drivers seems to have problems with some scenes (I see black or white scenes).
Radeon 9800 with latest drivers seems to have problems with some scenes (I see black or white scenes).
best moppi demo (at the time of writing;)
so damn good! The modelling and everything was just amazing!
Argl... why doesn't it run on my system. :(( It runs like 1-4 fps. Moppy stands for sexy design, so I wanna watch. :Q
Nice slideshow = nothing for my machine
Some scenes run OK, some scenes are just white. Too bad. (radeon mobility 9000)
Great finish for the democompos. The style is slick as hell and as someone already said, it doesn't try to prove anything, but just provide something different for the scene that is sometimes missing amidst all the flash and bangs. Excellent work!
2nd place Assembly demos are always my favorite. Huge props to Moppi!
Just beatiful. This was the only demo that managed to hold my full attention from beginning to end during the compo. ix is one of the few demos that make me think of demos as a form of art, as it is one of the few that provoke any thought or emotion in me besides "wow, that's cool".
Probably has some great philosophical meaning, but i didn't get it.
Still it looked interesting despite the 100% white screens.
Can't understand though how made tihs demo score something like -7fps on P4, 9700pro.
Hopefully there will be a fixed version

it go slow. I wish to see demo of lots of the mens faces 3d!! :(
you can show it on mtv and no one will ever notice that's not a video. excellent stuff.
"i dont think the tram is coming...."
liked this one. very stylish, nice soundtrack, nice modelling. great work.

the best graphical design ever
I love you, guys. Best demo of Assembly 2003.
awesome!, hell this is good.
special greeting to simo lounge (i guess) for the kickass music

great design
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i'm speechless)
Amazing look a feel. Fresh. Powerful, and technically superb. Loved the design. ix should have won assembly with flying colours. Especially as moppi have avoided the temptation to use the fame of others (coughcgouhlegocoughmatrxicgoughtravoltacough) to boost the demo's appeal. Again congratulations guys.. you're the real winners for me.
Uh.. sorry.. I was picking my nose before so my thumb was preocupied.. =) anyway here it is.
its looks funny and stylish from the slideshow i get on my 2000+/GF4MX and between the white screens...
please memon give us a fixed version : i want to thumb up another demopaja prod :)

(memon, that's why GL sucks ;)
Anyway great stuff, was insanely cool on bigscreen, didn't make quite as big an impression on my monitor (maybe it's also because i've now seen it before) but still good, except the radeon problems..

oh and the thumb :)
Good work, Moppi, as always!
A great idea and a beautiful execution by Moppi. Infact, melon coulld use a couple of design lessons from these guys. Excellent collage of textures, nice rendering technique, indeed this could be a video-clip and noone would notice. My only complaint is that it is very slow. And it's not demopaja, legomania was fast on the same pc.
imho the most beautiful demo seen at asm03. great design. Hitto jos ootte ens vuonna kakkosia niin kakkaan memonin housuihin. Ainaki henkisesti.
kickeriiiiiiickiiiiiiii :)
the series second demos have always been the ones that should have won. being moral winners is a form of art. next year. you will be. second.
moppirule.xirule.
Looks good, but I get long black screens between parts, sometimes with what looks like some particles on screen. Will wait for final before vote...
An excelent design. Great Demo, kick ass !
I like it.
moppi quality
refreshing, interesting and original. respect!
word for the giraffe and the style.
was a bit boring tho.
was a bit boring tho.
I found the "neonray" tag. I was surprised. Just love you, guys ;)
I just love storydemos with SO weird stories. Great athmosphere, great visuals, really refreshing... only this far too generic lounge soundtrack disappointed me somewhat.
runs with 4,5 frames on my p4 1.8 gf4 and with 1,1 frames on my athlon 850 gf2 (estimated framerates tho:)
FIX IT!
FIX IT!
Joining the shouldhavewon-club.
Experimental and original. Kinda' artmovie with humour. Love it.

memon, at my office machine (p4 2.4 with gf4. I think Ti 4200 or ti 4600 ) it works very slowly (~4 fps) too. Other demos (which I downloaded) from asm works fine. At my home (amd AXP 1.5 gf3) works perfectly.
This sunlight effect looks damn real in this thing, giving these scenes a nice feeling of real atmosphere. Classic and distinctive Moppi style all the way, with nice touches of humor strewn throughout as well. Great work!
nice and original.
pretty characters + design.
all in all, one of the best demos i've seen this year.

love it. so fresh. thank you, moppi.
WoW :) good Job MOPPI
"we´re 2nd so why try harder?"
quite impressive - it is much more difficult to come second on purpose than actually winning a competition ;)

Cool design and funny characters.
stays black here? AMD 1Ghz, Gf2mx, WinXP
Latest DirectX, Latest Detonators. Plays music, tho.

I feel for you guys who can't run this demo, because it's good(tm). It gets better the more you watch it, and I can't say that about any but my very favorite demos.
And framerate is fine in over here on a P4 2.4, GF4 Ti4600, DX9, 1GB RAM. Truly magnificent work guys. One for the gallerys of the future.

Blue 7... I sure hope your framerate is good on that machine.. else it would suck bigtimes.
The demo: nice. :)

memon. tomorow i will check it. But if I remember, ffwd worked nice.
hidden messages: I saw "we're 2nd" too ;) Also "neonray" tag and "armada" i suppose so?
rulez
got nothing but a white screen here. though all the other moppi demos worked here so far.
hopefully someone can show this to me at the evoke.
hopefully someone can show this to me at the evoke.
Cool demo, ace gfx and design and music. But I'm told Demopaja demos are lame so I have to thumb it down.
Sorry I didn't make those rules.
Sorry I didn't make those rules.
Wah wah, I never take anything seriously so why doesn't anybody like me. Grow up, please.
Back to the demo.. wonderful job on the concept and rendering technique. But you know how it goes at these parties.. pop-culture 3d ALWAYS wins over conceptual art. Always.
Interesting how moppi and melon both had the same 2D-in-3D character idea. :)

Awesome demo and I agree with Shane's sarcasm.
It is stupid to thumb down a demo and say "It's demopaja its not coded blah blah". What you miss is that it IS coded. It is coded by Memon and if Memon is credited then what is the problem?
You can say to get a coder but its like this... Memon lends his code to designers who cant code and puts control of the demo in their hands.
I love demopaja and I think this demo is the bomb!!

rulezz.
memon: Today I didn't test your demos because I was without internet in my office whole day ;( But upi/throb says that 4fps in my videocard because it is Geforce 4 MX440 (which even doesnt have any shaders).
Really weird and impressive, although it was a bit boring :P
patch for radeon please! it's about 1fps at 1800+, 256, radeon 9000
as a "show" this is VERY nice, the gfx is awesome, but it doesnt contain any "demofeeling" at all. imo
slow...
great work. well executed.
superb.
not a demo in my opinon and a little boring but very good work
memon, if it helped you: dx9, xp, athlon 1800+, 256 ddr, radeon9000 and previous demos works fine. oh, and at my machine white screens

Sorry guys this was horrible. Not just the lack of framerate or the white screens (I can bear bugs), it was just too ugly to look at and listen to. Just my humble opinion.
memon:
at my ugly gf4 mx 440 gerbera works fine.
but this one is slo.
did you find a problem? some shaders?

gf4 mx 440 here too, but the demo runs like a slideshow. A fix would be greatly appreciated if possible!
But going on the DIVX version, this is a masterpiece! I adore the concept and the design is breathtaking! The music isn't to my taste, but I couldn't imagine any other soundtrack being more well suited to the demo.

How do you spell LAME?
How lame and hypocritical can you be when you know that your production performs like a slideshow on most sceners' computers and present it at the biggest demoparty as a Demo, and not only that, but get a second place as well and be happy with this.Talking about self-respect.
Well, you are lame.At least be realists and present this production as a WILD and not as a demo. And while this production shows signs(as in 2-5 frames per second, figure out) of great design,i won't download the DIVX version because it is purely hypocritical.I would download it if it was a WILD.
Now,get a grip with reality, both groups and party organizers. You surely cannot let productions like this one pass the qualifying round.
Hypocrites
KILL LAMERS.

To make things worse,i know read some comments like this...
"It looks ok, but runs at something like 1 frame per minute here. "
Now wtf is this? Are you dumb? How the fuck can you thumb up when "runs at something like 1 frame per minute here."
Please respect yourself and present A PROPER FINAL version,so that we can at least appreciate the artists' work.
Downloading the DIVX version is at least hypocritica. It shows disrespect for other groups that scored LOWER in the compo, their demos looked better and run smooth on gf2 mx440 64mb.

Great design, nice music etc. And what is the point thumbing this down only because you don't have decent enough hardware?
oh...now i get it...
i am a moron........
please forgive me...
Watch Dreamchild and Cranium(just to name two asm2k3 demos)...they look better, run smooth, you do not need a DIVX version, and despite that, they scored lower....
Please shoot yourself...on the head...
We are supposed to be making demos and and we are part of something that is called "scene".If you want to do artsy fartsy stuff,go buy a gfN model,"code" a demo only for it and then go on and take care of your beautiful flowers.

Raoul you're trolling. On my sys it runs smooth. A shame you'r p.os hardware cant run it, but that's life innit? The artists have done a great job, and i hope they get the issues fixed in a patch . wich AFYI isnt a new thing with scene releases.
Raoul: So I guess that all coders should consult you about your hardware before making a demo, right?
Although I cannot run this demo on my PC, I can at least respect that it wasn't designed for my hardware. The DIVX is just a way of experiencing the demo as it was intended, without having to upgrade my PC.

Raoul: Idiots like you shouldn't be allowed to use the internet. If you talked like that to someone face-to-face, you'd get smacked in the mouth. Hopefully somebody will. The demo compo had specified the target platform on which the demo is supposed to be run. If your piece of shit machine can't run it, then feel free to f*ck off and don't whine about it like 5-year old.
Where're gone my framerate ?!
i love it!
raol: do you have any clue what the word "hypocritical" actually means?
ran fine on my setup btw.
(xp 2000+, g4 ti4200)
and this demo restores my faith in a scene where most demos being currently released are mediocre at best.

mad props! should've won :)
Let's clear it...first of all,go drown everyone,you can't seem to give a proper answer...at least Memon can....
My complaint is that i believe it is not fair for ix to get a second position while there are demos that run smoother and look better(imho) in a wider range of systems. It is not only me who posesses "crappy" hardware, but a very big number of sceners,so you should not only judge by the compo system and code for vastly unavailable systems, especially when you do not have something really new to show. That's my opinion, and if you do not like it,screw you.
At least memon can give a sensible answer, different from the "Fuck off,you get on our nerves" paradigm.

[iblis pissing on Raouls parade]Oh Raoul, did I mention how sweet this looks in 1024x768 4xAA ?? [/iblis pissing on Raouls parade]
Lol@wade
Not to mention the "shoot yourself... on the head" and "KILL LAMERS" paradigm. Raoul's comments don't deserve one tenth of the patience Memon displayed there.
(An actual comment about the prod might be coming later.)
(An actual comment about the prod might be coming later.)
probably raoul needs trance as music, lots of reflections, ultra complex 3d scenes or just rotating env mapped phong shaded torus and made to run in P2-400 with Geforce 256. <sarc>maybe next criteria for getting a top 3 place at a demo compo would be having a wide compability with various configurations </sarc>
and the point is: it ran on the compo machine.
buy new hardware before you come complaing

imho, this demo was my favourite one in the demo compo. beautiful and unique design, music ruled and astounishing visuals. :) great job guys.

My position on demos that don't work on my machine very well (such as this one, everything is too white, and on a white background, and it goes 30fps one moment and 2 the next) is that I give them pigfaces until I can see the demo as it was intended.
Unless, of course, the demo is cool enough to warrant a rulez as is. (such as Glon 243 which also had a white background)
It's far better to leave it possible to thumb later than to make a regrettable choice before seeing it as intended.
(gets off soapbox)

This prod really suckz ... what is the meaning to make a demo which runs good only on 12% of machines ?
also this demo could run fast and furious on p3 and a Gf mx ... and it need a power machine ... where is the hard work ? i don't think that the low pol. models were hard to made or the textures ... the music... hmm ok stylish , design : good idea , coding : what is this ? , .... this prod suxz ... i think that demos which are made by demo engines must be in wild compo ....

I missed that part, but maybe it was only visible on the big screen. ;)

sagacity: Dont mind if i do, sir! ~_~
I really dislike it when people grab like babies from certain words in order to humiliate you...so miserable...
First of all,you do not know how i judge demos and how i think,so please do not make rough assumptions...
My whole point, and i think you are missing it,is quite obvious. How the hell can a demo that is viewable on most computers thru DIVX be compared with demos that run smoothly and are pleasing to the eye.Speed and smoothness always were an issue,or else why the hell bother code the demo and not go with a graphics package? You think that speed and smoothness are not worthy criterias?
Everyone responds to me with the "Crappy machine, buy new hardware" excuse, but none to the escence of my words.Mr Memon,if most people have to download a DIVX to see Moppi's demo, can you please tell me what is the difference of your demo from a WILD entry?I really feel that the real-time issue is lost somewhere.
I did not try to degrade the artistic look of the demo.As i said in a comment earlier,it is easily seen that this demo has lots of "design".My comment is about SPEED and SMOOTHNESS,things that this demo lacks compared to other demos and therefore does not deserve its ranking.
As you say, code is your canvas and i compeletely respect that, but what do you say about the point i am adressing here?
Do not paraphrase my words...

Code should be good, but so should design, graphics, music, animation, etc.. I have yet to see one good demo that has all these elements in equal parts. Something tends to lag no matter how talented the group.
Raoul: making a demo for the hardware at the demoparty is a fair game. If it runs widely on other machines, that's bonus ;)
look at SOTA02 winner: Cocoon's Raw Confessions. At Xmas 2002 there were few vid cards that could run it (plus it needed lot of RAM ;)
I have a GF4MX (should have been named GF2.5), not way better than your GF2MX. You and I have shitty video cards compared to nowadays standard, i'm pissed off too not being able to enjoy ix, but that's just life ;) , normal computer evolution, you should have been accustomed to it for a long time :p

this demo rulez! Duke is just jealous =)
Raoul: Do you also think that Crystal Dream 2 isn't a demo, because not many people had fast enough 486 to run it when it came? (at least from people I know).

My thoughts exactly... or what about the GUS-only demos from the early 90's? I think Complex's "Dope" was GUS-only, but that didn't stop it from becoming an instant legend at the time. Or the first wave of hardware-accelerated demos? Or the first Amiga demos that were AGA only? When those came out, they ran on a very specific set of systems that not a lot of people had at the time. Did that automatically make them bad demos? Reading the comments, the argument just doesn't seem to make any sense to me...
Anyway, this demo runs fine on my P4-2.4 w/Ti4200 as well as my P3-1.0 w/Ti4400 at work, and I think it's one of those demos that gets better the more you watch it. You start noticing little details here and there that you missed in prior viewings, which I think is very cool.
I've already commented on this demo, so I can't give it another thumb's up, but here's another one in spirit. :) Keep up the great work, guys -- your work contributes to keeping the scene fresh and constantly moving forward.

excellent demo and fresh style, running smooth with ti4200 but not on C64.
very nice demo, i think it have to be first, but code not fast enough as it may be done :) i disliked moppi's work last year, but this one made supreme. style, music - everything so harmonious... it's nice.
for some odd reason i suddenly got an uncontrollable urge to say: "Many machines on ix. New machines..."
piggy because
+ it has a very fresh concept, maybe even a story (see below)
+ interesting gfx
- that music blows...
- on radeon about 50% of the demo are either white or black screens, that SUCKS
- i thinks it's too long (but that may be because of the long white screens i get)

This maybe the coolest demo Ive ever seen.. Love it to death.. Awesome style. And there is effects in there as well, but they are just tailored to the script instead of being the script.. :) The demoscene is making progress here.
After watching the demo on this machine (with gf4mx) I thought it looked quite average, from what I could see. Just watched the divx though, and it rulez :)
Best moppi demo yet i think. Great artwork too, + in a very fresh style for the scene. Was even interesting, and am I the only one to like that tune?
Should have come first (and I think i've now watched all the asm demos :)

didn't like it. A very arty prod, some interesting cartoon-like effects, but it just didn't catch my interest.
sorry.
sorry.
nice to see that our demo has caught this much attention and has started quite a long, almost philosophical discussion...
had to laugh a bit along the way, tho.. :D
had to laugh a bit along the way, tho.. :D
Havent been able to see it since the party was, and well.. cant say i adore it, certainly its not bad, but i think its annoying when people said that this was the true compowinner, since it wasnt.. It didnt make people cheer up at all during the compo, legomania (even with some nifty effects) and "i feel like a computer" did, i dont think i ever laughed that much during a demo was shown as when melons demo was shown :)
And i must say i like funny/fast productions more than slowpaced repeating stuff. I do remember there where some 'jokes' in this demo.. But i cant remember anyone during the compo that laughed :)
Piggy it is.
Atleast until ive watched it on a monitor and found it cool >P

Stefan: I think people saying it's the true compo winner mean for them personally. People will always feel that way, unless they all vote for the same prod :)
We get this discussion evey time theres a party it seems... some demo thats a pile of pure shit wins the compo cause it was the only prod with jokes that appeal to drunk sceners, and people moan about it the next day when they watch the entries at home. It's a fact of life, and funny when you watch for it :)

great demo !
to uncle-x: haha, so true :)
Raoul is wrong... very-very wrong. And he also misbehaved. If it runs on the compo machine and it's not video, then it's fine. That's all there is.
I really liked this one. It feels well directed, carries the story on quite fine so it doesn't get too boring, and overall the ideas are quite fun. It also has quite unique style.
Choosing to target it for the machine the demo party compo offers is fair play, although it's a good idea to release later a version which supports more wider set of gfx cards..

congratulations.
more than a "demo" in fact, and much more mature than the 1st (very nice also but...).
Great work guys!

the more i watch it, the better it gets. one of the best demos i have ever seen!
Woha!!! Optimusalike posts :)
a very stylish demo. you moppi people are sick;)
hello frame rate? i will never ever understand why such lowpoly stuff need so much gfx-card power. anyway, graffity style and suburban culture. woha, nothing new for the demoscene planet. maybe, moppi need some new topic?
I dreamt once the scene would forget about framerates and hardware.
From my point, demos have evolved. Nowadays, it's not anymore about speed and techniques.
Techniques we use is there to serve a goal. Wake up, the times where we could compete the game companies doing better techniques and visuals is gone. But the art stays! The art is where we still have chances to attract attention. The art i'm talking about can be expressed in many ways. For some people it'll be the feeling of a production that respects the oldschool conventions, for others it'll be abstract designs, it can also be visual tales...
Anyway, it's all now just a matter of taste! Lets forget about hardware and performances fight between ppl able to run something at home and the one that dont. Most of us dont use linux nor amiga (anymore), does it makes demos running on those platforms bad?
Compos rules imposes limitations. Anyone entering a democompo and respecting the rules is right to say he did a demo.
Moppi did a demo there.
You dont have a good framerate? You dont see why this demo is slow on your 5yo computer? Is this important, i mean you can still have a divx till you buy a new gfx card!! Is this what you take to rank a demo? Huh. Just expect to have more and more demos you wont be able to watch then (and you'll probably rank low).
If you dislikes the "art" in this demo, it's your absolute right. But lets forget about performances and hardware topic.

The scene has already forgotten about hardware and framerates. That's why the few remaining of us keep screaming :)
excellent visual, original stuff , beatifull music want else do you need ? Framerate .... come one buy a proper PC ... it runs perfect on my 2 year old machine : please raoul : shut the fuck up ... what is your contribution to the scene ? Do you even know how much time it take to do such a thing ... go away ... and never come back
hmm...
indeed original but i actually expected something more, reading all the comments.
Not something i think of as "very artistic", but i rather see it a couple more times...
At least it is "story" based which is always smthng pleasing to me.
As far as the Raoul dispute... well... my good friend Raou i must say u'r quite wrong. Judging a demo only through its performance...
(specially when it's smthng not needing of a great extraordinary pc-config. Just smthng more advance than the "usual" Greek PC)
As it's been said, techniques (and hw) is only a medium. As in any art the medium (beeing words-paints-canvas'-stone-whatever) is only there to serve the artist's goal. Imagine thinking of a poem being silly only because you're illiterate and cannot understand it's words, or thinking of Picasso being a lamer only because Guernica cannot fit in your small walls. Imagine poets preferring writing beutiful words instead of beutiful meanings, painters using fansy paints instead of drawing beutiful paintings. Technique is only a medium. Surely a great technique can(might) deliver a more beautiful result, but the technique is not the purpose of art.
It is better to think of a technologically needful demo as "ahead" of it's time, than crap. (at least when the result is pleasing :p)
Imagine how beautiful a demo requirning the full potential of a gfFX5900 can be.....(i know i will be flamed for that last one...:|)

Demo is about pushing the limits of the hardware, if u want art go for the wild or animation compo!
You must have lived under a -note the pun- rock for the past 10 years, if you still believe that... ;)
yeah but pushing the limits for what purpose?
If you u just wanna push the hw limits go compute fft's in matlab.....

Raoul has a point, no matter how it's expressed. I tried to run IX in my hardware today. I liked Halla by the same group much more, it had more complex and beautifull scenes, very atmospheric, more nice story and ran 20 times faster in my PC.
good idea... nice fx (nice filters)
crashed at the beginning... didn't even started

Ahhh...the good ol' topic:)
Memon my friend,i think i made myself clear.I said i like the demo in an artistic way and i appreciate its concept(i don't think you noticed that) but i really disliked the performance issue.Anyway, who cares...
As for the demomaking involvement issue you mentioned...well...hehehehe:)We loooove pills:)

tapelkaa pojat ni saatte tupakkaa :)
me being more font of "coder prodz"(i livr fr-08,squish,zoom3 etc) doesn't mean that art flys by me....somewhat fresh indeed, music and feeling, artish demo....
raoul: "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade."
raoul: "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade."
memon: no matter how much u write it doesn't change the real issue here, which is speed. People are wondering things like how "such lowpoly stuff need so much gfx-card power." And to correct that u give them a divX so that they can watch the demo :)
I'm not saying that this is a bad prod, it's just that demos should run realtime. Allso i have nothing against "arty" demos as long as there is some good coding too, except when they are made by haujobb :)
And the sub-urban tribe thing. Partly u are right, but i dont believe any oldskhoolers "world would collap" because of what happens in the demo-scene. Many of them grown and and dont care anymore.

I would love to watch this demo, but on my Radeon 9700 it seems to be pretty messed up. Lots of weird missing (white) pixels in some areas and it still runs like total ass. Using latest Catalyst 3.6 drivers.
Specs: P4 2.8ghz, Radeon 9700, 512 MB RAM.
What system was used to capture this thing? Was it not even captured realtime or was this video output generated somehow? I don't see how any machine could run this smoothly.
The demo looks awesome I just wish it ran properly.

WHAT Speed issue? Im running it perfectly at 1024* 4XAA. Memon and his team made a demo that takes advantage of a certain piece of hardware. This hardware is called a Geforce. Furthermore the code needs a certain class of geforce to run properly. Just like you cant run an amiga PPC demo on an amiga 500. It is that simple. If you dont have the hardware this code requires to run, that is a shame. but it doesnt make the code, bad, inferiour or anything else. It just makes the code "aimed" at a certain piece of hardware.
Very slow rhythm... a bit boring in some parts, it's hard to pay attention continuously. The aesthetics are original but they lack something that I don't know how to explain.
I was hoping more from moppi productions, it's a pity. Waiting for the next.

Lepper: the demo have speed problems on Radeon cards, that is a known problem and i really wish they could fix that too :(
PERFECT!!!
Excellent. Great atmosphere and design. Refreshing :)
this always makes me smile :)
unique and brilliant, perfect
unique and brilliant, perfect
1fps, white frames, and still very good.
seems to be brilliant but... i can't run it really smoothly on my PC.
this demo wasn't designed for my conf. :(
but i'll try to see it later on another one...

great to see people liking (and criticising) our work. thanks. i'm hoping for the radeon fix too, but it's totally up to memon and we don't even have a radeon card to test the demo with. so, meanwhile, watch the divx version at http://moppiproductions.net if you feel like it. good day everyone.
this should have won, stupid voters.
please Memon a radeon fix !! :)
forgot my rules for this one

stylish and just great!
this is the best demo i've seen this year
All elements were excellent:
The music! aaaaaah....
Technics! Many cool scenes and I liked the graffiti and alternative things too.
"Story"! At least it has one, funny one

When I first saw it, it was too arty for me. But after seeing it a couple of times, it has become one of my all-time favourites. Great work Moppi.
i just come by this production oncer in while to say "wow" ....so ....WOW!
different and interesting. it's great to see all those non photo realistic effects being used to accent the story.
funny
I'm a bit unsure what to say about this production...
First; it's a GF3+ prod that happens to run on a GF2, although way too slowly to be very entertaining -- I have no problem with that, although it should probably be marked in the readme file somehow (I watched the DivX). (I have more of a problem with nVidia-only demos, but OK, that's the situation...)
The demo is different from a lot of what's out there today, both by the NPR stuff (which probably isn't all that groundbreaking, but yet works well) and the story emphasis. I don't really "get" anything from the story, though -- I like the hens and the giraffes, but I feel it's just a long ride ending with something that sounds like it's going to crash but doesn't. Perhaps I missed something :-P I like the music, though.
So, in sum, it's not a bad production, and it's really nice to see people doing fresh stuff, but it's still not my demo. Keep them coming, and please make a final version that runs on at least the higher-end Radeon cards :-)

strong critique makes you tough. indeed, others think you are ellite or something. like in that old joke about one guy which repeated "it has no sense". And he was such a good psychologist, since he knew, or seemed to knew at least that calling evrything "nonsense" will appear as a word of senseful man.
same here, doowds. you say "crapp" about great prod, since you think it will make you ellite. but hey, you have done it! you attracted the audience.
and it does not run on my pocket calculator, retards.

Could have sworn I had already voted for this prod =)
Anyways, love the different alternative style.

what? no thumb yet? *spanks own ass* this demo kicks.

MY FAVOURITE DEMO EVER!!
After upgrading my graphics card, I could finally get it to work properly. I've never really that much liked it, but I got to give credit to the modelling, scripting and graphics...
Simply great and original. I'm waiting for my new configuration to completely enjoy this gem (sometimes it appears as a slideshow on my computer)!
nothin more to say
Crashes about 20 seconds after the start (W2kSP4, FX5200). This demo seems to be very picky about the hardware it runs on...
nothing fancy
Not my piece of cake at all.
BUT there is undoubtedly some style and originality there. Great work.

this is a piece of a master!
BWAAAAAAAAK!
Metrosexual!
weak thumb up :/
Optimistic?
Cool. But are the white screens intended or a bug? I had a white screen for several seconds a couple of times during the tram ride. Seemed odd. Nice ideas anyway.
Dreaming bizzarre moppi world.
Nice
This quite probably one of the most outstanding productions in demoscene history - an animated shortstory done realtime
An outstanding performance.
i love it
wonderful demo. but it lacks something gerbera and halla has, i don't quite know what.
hey guys, really good job in creating a very different and well designed demo that will always be remembered.
I must admit, the animation-esque 'style' of the demo wasn't usually my thing, and i'm more into more abstract soundtracks.. but subjective opinion aside this is a great product - well done

Really very good!
unique style, unique demo... respect!
One of the best demo ever.

Yes, this is very, very different and nice to watch at, no doubt!!
^^
Thumbs up for the narrative and the style.
design
STYLE++!!!
Now, how come, in all these years i haven't thumbed up this absolute favorite of mine?
thought i'd voted this one... awesome shit! great one to show to non-sceners
doesn't appeal to me so much, but respect
CHICKEN!!
great music, great design, great graphics
Different but I don't really like it. Couldn't fully watch it though as it showed me just a white screen after a while.
Professionally done, a different "frame by frame" style stands it apart from many demos. I found myself waiting for something to happen in the train ride - It's a good demo but it didn't click with me. Thumbs up though.
not my taste - bored me
A great demo. Reading the irrelevant rubbish comments by that idiot vitamen in 2003 makes me chuckle at the mentality of some people in our scene. Sore losers you are ..
Nice style.
A giraffe riding the tram? Now, that's comedy! ;-)
missing thumb detected!
I second CygnusEd!
awesome!

This truely is a great production.
Funny little story, but that's about it. Didn't really like the presentation, the style and the music.
Sorry, but it's only a piggy for me.

super.
i love all of it
overrated. bit different but not that great
:)
forgot the thumb. once again.
still a great demo !
(that scratched chicken sound.. I remember that I heard it on some "commercial" track back/before then..anyone remembers that one?)

fantastic
This is one of those totally overrated productions.. The only thing it's got going for it is that certain sample.. :)
No, you are wrong.
it seems i never commented this before... strange.
thus: tram \o/

Fun
Interesting to see that this wilddemo discussion is going on since 2003. To be very clear about this demo: it kicks major ass, explores ways rarely explored before, has unique character design, a nice story, one hell of a great soundtrack and I happen to love it myself. The awards this prod got didn't come from nowhere and I can see and respect the massive work behind this prop. Also what navis said two years ago.
love the weirdness
One of my favorites!
representative of an era..
perfect story demo
nothing but brilliant as always, one of my fav demo groups ever, always fresh, always original, and always with sublime selection in music, very much a big inspiration for me :)
Weird. THis seems to be completely incompatible with my box. :P I get no sound and the gfx look slightly different on my ATi (compared to the capped version). Still, interesting demo.
Pleases the strange side of me.
nice concept! :)
grrreat.
An unique demo !
Great and original design. Still nice after all these years...
classic
long giraffe is long!
what?? i didnt thumb up this?? One of the best demoscene prod ever.
I want moppi back :[
I need a capture of this demo in 25fps. Can somebody help me out? Thanx a lot in advance.
.. and of course ...
Did I just watch someone fold space from Ix?
Albert :)
Amazing! Different than other prods.
Wonderful!
Good one.
Moppi!
Original idea, funny and cool music.
Quote:
When I get new graphics cards I'll fix the demo so that it'll run on new radeons and geforces.
sadly this never happened and the demo doesn't run on current hardware (atleast radeon)
i would love to be able to see this wonderful demo in realtime once (always had radeon cards)
full of great ideas combined with a fresh visual style. i miss moppi ...
one of those demos I don't get :|
Can't believe I never commented on this. My favourite Moppi prod, pure style.
moppi <3
Made me happy!
Still fresh style!
Such a unique design, syncing and execution - marvelous!
Should've done this 15 years ago.
still rocks :)
Still deserves a thumbs up
Nice seems i have forgotten to thumb this up
Sorry, but I don't get it. It doesn't work for me at all.
one of my favourite demos, regarding music, design and storyboard. if you don't get it, don't worry, there's always something else for you.
A timeless classic and very funny!
what a ride, what a style. a proper masterpiece if i ever saw one.
It has everything. And chicken.
