I should have thumbed this up ages ago.
added on the 2005-03-16 by KK
just another thumb up...
added on the 2005-04-29 by Lupin
A bit static scenes but great for being a 64k. The speech was used a bit too much---nice in the beginning but got boring in the end. Good work anyhow.
added on the 2005-05-17 by ManJIT
Needs a good GFX card.
Didn't knew it was MS speech engine =P ! A bit of surprise now.
Does some prod with (intelligible) speech synthesis already exists?

Great work anyway! I guess how the "meta-worm" (?) part exactly works.

This demo is the my benchmark ;)

this was sooo cool when it got released :)
added on the 2005-11-29 by wb
- mediocre (boring) wannabe trance music
- lame robot model (omg when will we get rid of these?)
- lame texts (TRANCE GENERATION OMFG!)

....but still, very good idea to use the speech generator (it's not lame, its innovative to use the components the platform delivers you) - *very* good engine, a lot of stuff packed into 64k, and besides i liked it a lot when i saw it the first time, too bad that the scripting is so pointless that it gets boring after seeing it for many times.

Quite cool, unique blurry look and detailed scenes plus I like the music. Was amazing on the big screen.
added on the 2006-02-02 by slux
What's so unique about a blurry look? When overused, blur is ugly, and this one is no different. However, eventhough this intro it not really my thing, calling it a bad intro would not do it justice, so here comes the thumb...
added on the 2006-02-04 by sparcus
nice trip but it is mostly the same again and again ...
added on the 2006-02-25 by ghandy

legendary
added on the 2006-03-06 by blackpawn
A polished 64k with good sync and a clever idea using the windows speech thingy.
Looks and sounds still good although it`s already 3 years old.
added on the 2006-05-26 by Skyrunner
Don't like the music... and it would be much better without the text. Nice effects, though. -> piggie

stunning
added on the 2007-01-27 by prm
Compared to some actually 64k releases, it's still up-to-date. Really great work.
added on the 2007-02-27 by Cj
This is just too good. I still wonder how AND communicates with the M$ speech engine :)
added on the 2007-04-10 by Saga Musix
Visual, effects and models are quite stunning for it’s size. Thumb up! But for my taste the camera movements are really too fast and together with all the blurring it was hard to really “enjoy” the scenes. Soundtrack?! …well… I just watched Micropolis and read kb’s comment … and this nice kind of irony made me smiling …

Very good for 2003 - even very good for today and a couple of years to come.
The music lacks some bass, but in general it's fine.

wtf i never commented on this? awesome 64k. the "vocoder" is just a clever trick that makes it even cooler than using a real one :D

Gigantic work! Shadows everywhere. Not my favorite, but I can definitely show respect!

Overrated but great
added on the 2008-05-24 by TS
Lots of content in 64k, good synth, great modelling, and an awesome technical achievement overall. But also: too much Kasparov, too much blur, cheesy slogans; and while it was a good idea, the Windows speech synth is quite annoying. Left a bad aftertaste.
added on the 2008-05-27 by Alpha C
Very nice one. Speech synthesis sounds very good! BRAVO!
added on the 2008-06-19 by baah

it was great on the big screen but now it's just boring. and annoying. mostly boring.
added on the 2008-07-01 by ilmarque
Basically kasparov in 64k and on steroids. Still one of the big 64k milestones, so thumbs up.
added on the 2008-08-17 by tomaes
Repeats itself too much and the pixellation-effect (or whatever to call it) really bugs me. Still a good achievement technically, nice models and the speech trick is very clever, though it sounds dull.
added on the 2008-08-20 by stijn
Still one of my favourite 64k..

A very nice intro with an impressive show of scenes. And a really good use of M$ Sam. I'll have to try that in a 4k some time...

!!! iZ3D-Anaglyph 3D-Driver compatible !!!
(just requires DirectX and some red/cyan-"glasses" - that's it and it's freeware !)

In real 3D even a greater experience !
