One of my favourite demo, and my favourite from Halcyon.
A really original and well done demo with a smashing "hard techno" song.
added on the 2000-09-09 16:25:41 by rez rez
powerfull techno beats and amazingly fast code.
powerfull halcyon. simply rules.

Good music, creative idea, Should see in a big screen!
Still play it from time to time. It's a perfect blend: cool visuals (not amazingly advanced, but to the point) and merciless techno to boot!

great design, nice effects, appears totally clean and stylish. i expected nothing different from halcyon. they rule.

It's such a cool demå. I just love the way the music and visuals merge.

Yes! Cool Jormas techno music (like in their best days on A500 :), perfect Halcyon code (innovative effects, fakes AND high frame rates.. what do you want more) and overall a lot of fun when you stand in front of the bigscreen and imitate the cow and the old, uh, "lady" with the handbag whie watching this... a must-see!

You know this is my favoritest demo from Halcyon?!

Abstract/Experimental stuff I usually couldn't understand,.. but Halcyon doesn't mime, they know what they do and they do it very well!

that hardcore track by the guys in da Jormas absolutely rocks! the demo features some extremely great synchronization with the soundtrack... awwwwwwww!! pump up the volume! :)

Really cool rave demo ! Actually as this is a cooperation between Halycon and Da Jormas (music), I think it should appear in the prod information...

Ermmm, am I the only one, who thinks that the music is kinda... monotonous and a little bit annoying?

However, the demo has its good points. A portion of mindfuck style known from mfx and satori productions, plus a certain ambient feeling. Great!

rjv: According to the partyversion's infofile, it wasn't shown because the ASM orgas thought it was too much a "ravedemo" and contained "too much animation".

Bad move I guess, this would have placed in the first 3 easily...
added on the 2002-04-11 12:14:11 by Gargaj Gargaj
okok so someone educate my mainstream newschool ass on this. why is this so fucking good? i see:
- ok visuals
- badly mixed and somewhat disappointing techno music
- ok musicsync (probably good musicsync compared to scene-average, but still nothing amazing imo)
- some nice effects
- lots of stuff that i've seen 174x before already.

all in all quite a nice demo, definately worth watching every once in a while. but not particularly god's gift to mankind, imo.

i must admit that i'm bad at separating good code from bad code, and also at placing a demo in its time (saw this first about a year ago). but still, i'm not amazed, just averagely entertained (and i do like technodemos).

so. someone enlighten me.

rulezadded on the 2003-02-16 11:23:54 by neurox neurox
it won't happen, the source has been lost according to the coder (and it was 100% asm, a real pain to port).

As much as I like halcyon style (and certainly love some of their demos , as well) I completely dislike this one. Too chaotic, monotonic and stuff.. But, taking into account that it's somewhat a classic, and kinda alternative too, i decided to grant it a pig. whatever.
