Oh, and all the "feedback" effects, such as the one on the screenshot were so pretty.

Some very cool scenes indeed, but the skyscraper building scene at the end is pure <3 , excellent.

loadingbar finishes, black screen, music playing, Vista, Core2Duo, Radeon 2600 HD, latest drivers ... snirf :(
Just for the record i ran this on Vista 64bit, P4 3GHz , and a Gforce 7800.

And this demo is beautiful, just wanted to say that one more time :)

that shader (i guess) is just plain awesome

gargaj: i had the same, after reading the infofile i assumed it was from not having a pixelshader 3 card..

ps: I don't have pixel shader 3 card, in fact, I have the same computer as you, isn't it? (Mac Book Pro).
added on the 2007-12-29 07:53:18 by mrdoob mrdoob
i didnt try it on the mac. i tried it on the p3 with the radeon x800 pro. but i guess i'll try it on the mac now if you insist ;) although latest update from parallels seemed to b0rk alot more demos than make any of the buggy ones work.
added on the 2007-12-29 08:04:31 by psenough psenough
hei it worked on the mac, hehehe.
not too sure if i liked the colors and the effects (not too sure it was playing properly either)
but great music and loved the last scene.

Hmm... bugs here as well - the loading bar stop around 25%, then wobbles a bit, the music starts and the logos are displayed VERY slowly (updating every 10 seconds) with no other effects at all.

I watched the compo online and since I missed the first part I didn't know whose entry is currently running. After a few moments some details with the 3D style remembered me very much in the LKCC/Bauknecht BSM 2004 invitation (Fern) - so I was pretty sure it must have been Pixtur's artwork. But then there were several new things: a more "floating" color-scheme, more amorphous diffuse visuals and a different sound track style. I hoped it so much but I was not totally sure that it is a Still demo - but indeed: it was one - a great one - I love it to see how their style is evolving with every new production. Thumb Up!!!

rulezadded on the 2007-12-29 11:09:23 by zeebr zeebr
A tad short, but the atmosphere is wow. While I'm not sure it runs exactly the way it should here (a bit too much white at some parts), it's got exactly the style I like :)

And that transition in the screenshot from the rotating rings to the dense structures is just O___O

Fantastic - my favourite from the compo! I really liked the oldskoolish smoke/plasma-thingie in combination with the detailed scenes. On the stream you couldn't see the alex lying in the debris... that was a nice surprise when I watched it on my own machine :)

By the time the red oversaturated scene near the beginning had started, I'd decided this demo is awesome. The feedback part later was interesting too.
Right near the end, I thought the color separation was a bit too much.. not necessary to turn it into a shader show. Still great though.

I didn't like this so much, mostly because of the music which is not in my taste, but the, I assume, massive work on the end part of the demo makes up for it.
added on the 2007-12-29 18:16:54 by thec thec
Bah, same old still type stuff. Which means it rules massively of course :)

If it's not working for you try lower res/quality/AA settings, that worked for me. Low res/quality - super smooth. Medium res/quality - fine. Fairly high - 0.5fps (which is too big a jump down - must hit some kind of barrier along the line). Very high - black screen of music.

Even so, I still want a fix - even if it runs slow, I really do need that 1080p kkapture :D

BEST DEMO EVER!

4th BEST DEMO EVER of the year! I love everything about it! I don't know if it is that time of the year when you are some 2 months without watching a decent demo or what is it, but sure is a great demo, and it finally has a modern use for a really old effect (the feedbacks)!
I'm gonna watch it again now after I CDC it.

Not as good as I expected by the comments but still worth enough a thumb up. I think I somehow didn't liked the fuzziness and randomness of the scenes, even though the 2d filters used are very cool, the start is very nice, music is good, final skyscraper scene impressive (even though scenes are blurry/fuzzy that I can't totally enjoy them).

Not bad but nothing special... Hope to see more own style of the demoscene in future and not copying effects from other good looking demos... i think the intro with names is a bit to long... 1:30 min is very boring to watch at the start. Rest is ok!

I give a thumb for the work behind... But the visuals are seen much much before...

While I generally hate flyby-style demos with a passion, I confess finding that one scifi-looking scene near the end really enjoyable. Cool feedback effect too. Too bad the other parts and the music were not up to par..

And I didn't like the music even if it fits the demo.

Love the contrast between the very soft scenes where everything dissolves to the harsh geometry. The tune plays the same vibe, it's clear but playfully - harsh but not mean.
Walking that fine line and combining both style is something probably only Pixtur is able to do.
