no man, seriously. some idiot gloperator is abusing it thinking it looks better the wrong way around out of cluelessness. lets start betting on who it is :)
I remember a query some months ago after a "response" to 17962/17963/17964 (these ones are fucked up, too), so I want to make it clear: this time it wasn't me. 14 glöperators, 13 remain.
whoever is doing it clearly thinks that a link to the remix saying original is more logical then a link to the remix saying remix. -_-
either that or gargaj flipped them all wrong when testing if it was working somehow... O_o
everything is broken now *runs around naked in circles*

Hi guys, if I'm not mistaken suggestions for Pouet go here. If not, please ignore this.

Anyways, since it's impossible to read all 276+ pages of this thread, these might be redundant, but as a recent user, this is an account of some little annoyances:

1) Can't message other users directly (only through comments, which is bad, because it subverts the comment pages to mere dragging dialogue pages, and the only other way is through the IM/ICQ entries in profiles, which are lacking in features (newer IMs, privacy concerns, etc)
2) When adding a production, or picking anything from a list, the drop down menus are ridiculous (thousands of entries). A different interface is badly needed.
3) Can't tell which demo-group a certain person belongs to. So under their 'profile' page, it'd be nice to list those.
4) There should be a more uniform way to update a production profile page. For example, if I have a newer NFO or something. I understand those are under the Submit page, but update differs from "create new", and there's no way to update every single field if need be. Anyways, related to this is also the ability to contact the person who initially created the production page, because he might have gotten some info wrong (ex. release date), and instead of hogging the administrators, this work could be parallelized.

I'm sure there might be some more things, but that's all for now. All in all Pouet ROCKS, and I'm glad you guys have made for all of us to bask in! Thanks! :)
Oh yeah, the broken links thing... I see Jet Set Willy just sent a new link to DoWhackado, but there's probably a better way to handle these... I'm sure I probably have to read the 276 pages to see the proposals, but I thought I'd mention it anyhow :)
five vs. willy: updated.
Is there a way to change the "type" of a production? I rather make some "intros" instead of "64kb" or whatever. How can I do that?

Thanks in advance
Also, I guess I was wrong in thinking I could add another download URL (video for a production). Can I do it, after I've already added the production?

Thnx

Post it here and some Glöperator will fix it.

if there are extra download links you wanted to add, ask a gloperator

Thank you for your patience.
da: pouet has been patched during the last few years by a newb to php+sql and the whole usability affair, so we are aware of some of the concearns and taken measures to fix them in a near future (i.e. given access to new webadmins who ofcourse went immediatly idle except for gargaj who is already getting sick of fixing things :) )

1) pm'ing other users would be interesting indeed. even though bitfellas or plain irc would be a nicer place to chat with other sceners and get each others personal contacts.

2) yes, thats why we reduced choosing the groups and parties from a textbox, still, some popup search thingies are beeing implemented to support those usability concearns.

3) we have been working on lists.php to do just that, but its only half way implemented due to time constraints (i.e: i got a job :/)..

4) like madenmann says, atm the only way to change those infos about prods (nfo, type, url) are posting about it here in this thread. it was a hack solution when i took over a few years ago and since then i implemented gloperator level to assist on the chore of fixing those details, the idea all along was to reach the point where it was automated, but ofcourse i hadnt had time to fully implement it yet. gasman or p01 or gargaj will implement a form in the near future where you can submit alterations and then a gloperator simply approve/deny it. making it hopefully more userfriendly and such..

thx for the feedback, and welcome to pouet. nice to see more american pc oldschoolers around :)

gargaj: and now you can find out why error.php was hack patched like that

err... "so"? someone can include their own links on an error page, whoop-dee-fucking-doo :D
Plus, I didn't change the link code, i just moved the htmlentities() from the print to the parameter reception. ;)

1) hmh. not the perfect medium but it's probably considerable.
2) working on it - gloperators already have the new interface, if there are no bugs, i'll put it on the submit prod form too.
3) one of my old ideas is to be able to attach users to prods and groups - but of course this is, again, a policy debate issue and i wish not to get involved in those.
4) an automated system was one of my first ideas for gloperation - it will get implemented soon as i find the time.

lotek: me too - i'll code the feature if the persons responsible for the policy agree.

gargaj: hack lists to show on user profiles and it'll be done automagically..

I dislike the concept of lists, kindof sounds like the wrong kind of flexibility.
