I just found out why depeche mode had some really gay tunes back in the 80s. Their debut album Speak & Spell was mostly written by the erasure dude... And erasure is sooo gay.

Most of the songs after that, which are great, are written by Martin L. Gore.

Vince Clarke was more of a pop-guy, yes, but he was the one contributing the most to the "sound" which made DM famous later.

When hearing a music, i don' t care if the musician is gay or straight, black or white, or whatever.
And anyway too many good songs there...

i dont see why remixes are allowed in this thread, DM itself did superb songs, long before others mastered even the simplest DrumComputer ;)

my alltime-mostBestGayish-DM-Song is:
People are People
ofcoz ;)

Also in the 80s listening to DM wasn´t considered gay (Pet Shop Boys was!), eventho the 80s have been gay allover, haha! :D
kurli:
nice, didnt know! thanks for that information!
erasure is gay for sure, everyone knew even back then already, when come-outs and being gay got in fashion, haha.

btw: if you listen to a lot of pop-songs nowadays, you´ll get some 90s by listening to compositions of the 4nonBlondes-Singer Linda Perry, all of them sound the same, but all of them are really good! ;) and i HATE pop!
started with Gwen Stephanie - What are you waiting for
kurli, what surprises me is that the erasure guy who was in dm seems to not be gay, at least he's married to some female. somehow thought both of them would be out of the closet.
