Dell Inspiron P4 2.4 Ghz / 512Mb / Radeon mobility 7500 = crappy
gfx card does not have Shaders, and NO VERTEX BUFFERS, now this sucks
But it runs Dope (Complex) in DOS box very well, yes!

I dont code at home anymore, so I merely have a lousy iBook. At the office a couple of laptops, and a Wii-devkit :)

I'm not a coder, but a simple demo "watcher" :)

Previous setup:
Sempron 3000+ (socket A) @ 2Ghz, 7600GS AGP 256MB, 1GB DDR @ 333Mhz, Audigy 2 ZS (sux), Win XP
Run almost every demo absolutely fine

Current: (2 months old)
Core2Quad Q6600 @ 2,4Ghz, 2x2GB DDR2 @ 667Mhz, 8800GTS 640MB, Sigmatel onboard audio (doesn't suck so much), Vista x64

everything at stock speeds and will never be OCed.

Feel free. I myself have thought every year when I'm not nominated for scene.org-awards for my excellent soundtracks that "this must all be because of having inferior soundcards to the real artists in the scene".

Gloom,

I use laptop with x600 (ps2.0), 1.5 Gig RAM, 2.0Gig processor for 90% of development. Widescreen LCD.

When I want to experiment a bit I swap to a desktop, x1800 (ps3.0), 1 Gig RAM, AMD 64 x2 2.21Ghz. 4x3 LCD monitor.

Sound barely works in both caes, one is laptop crappy and one has some electrical interference I think.

Actually, Excess made a commercial demo that featured triple-screen output (Matrox only) but since it was used on the showfloor of a technology conference, it was never available for teh scene.

Yes! You are right! My cheap-ass M-Audio card is the real reason why no Scene.org Award Nomination has come my way as well - hell, the latest soundtrack I did was mastered ON A LAPTOP! SHIVERS!

Hercules Stingray 128 (Alliance ProMotion AT25/3DFX Voodoo Rush), 6M Video RAM
Ensoniq SoundScape S-2000 Sound card
