submit productions you were involved in, not someone else's

well, submitting a demo can be considered to "be involved with it". it's will be quite easy to pass that rule. you'll probably want to be more precise on that one, if you want to enforce it at the party.

i disagree. any disqualification decision is always the organiser's, and nearly any disqualification gets somewhat controversial at one point. they could've simply said "the organisers reserve the right to disqualify any production they feel does not belong in the compo", but were smart enough to give a list of some common reasons.

of course any rules like these can be easily broken or worked around. the whole point of keeping them vague is to be able to apply common sense. more precise rules will only result in more nitpickery from twats who try to work around them. made a prod? enter it. your friend made a prod and you once got him a beer while he was coding it? make sure the friend is present and leave him the honour. is it that difficult?

What if you add "prod deliverer" to the credits? :D

xernobyl, feel free to add your name "hit me with something pointy" to a prod's credits and watch what happens when you submit the demo :)

ULTRASUPAH TBL ASSKICKING DEMO by IRIS
Coding by: Doom
Gfx: Doom
Music: Nutman
Distribution: Darkhawk & Adonis

:D

Nah, we all know what they mean.....if ASD wants a demo at the compo, one of the guys better be at BP, istead of sending a dude that knows them to pick up the price (Like at Scene Awards Last year, or was that an ASD guy who just acted stupid?)

tFt: Well, since both aMusic and Leviathan were at BP last year, I suppose one of them picked it up - you were probably too drunk to realize that their behaviour was normal - for greeks, anyway. ;)
how much will it cost for my kid ?

depends - how old?

quisten: This rule is not really targeted at productions were a team is involved in (like demos). It's more meant for remote "hey, can you submit this tune into the music compo, it's a re-release and I'm not even there" stuff.

nytrik: In case this is a serious question - for BP08 we are working on some form of a Breakpoint kindergarden where several sceners with kids help assist each other so you don't have to watch your kid yourself all the time. Entrance for your own kids will be free.

Kindergardens at parties, if that doesn't shut up the scene-is-dead crowd then nothing ever will :)

scamp: actually it is. I m considering this seriously my little boy is 2 years and half ( the half is really important for him ) old. I would like to come and visit with my wife... my question was more "will you make him pay if he comes to hello to dad ?". For the kidergarden, that will be nice but Im not interested : my little boy will feel a bit lost (as a good french he speaks only french ).

Seconded :)

if you want an unofficial tracked music compo, organize it yourself and tell us about it. the whole point about the "unofficial" is that we don't do it ourself :)

What about a Realtime-GFX-Compo this year? GFX-Tabletts for maybe 4-5 Guys should be no problem to get.

tft you are wrong. It was Amusic and Leviathan at last year's Scene.org awards. I don't think ASD has ever been to a compo or a ceremony without at least one of its members being physically present.
