I seriously doubt this kind of wanker has any beer or a girlfriend (except imaginary).

And I'm pretty sure this kind wanker doesn't have any beer and he also surely hasn't contact to women at all...not even imaginary.

Well, Yes shurely wants to make a quick and clean cut. He already gave the site back to the provider.

The main problem with Kohina is that they're more into C64 music and not into demoscene music generally.
will talk to Yes and see what we can do. Will let you know if we can use any help in case there's a possibility to resurrect it.

Gargaj: If this was directed at me... It seems like Yes kept backups. There was one on the server and one on his HD, so you can't blame him really. This could also happen to me (probably anyone). I keep backups, but if my laptop-HD crashes AND my external HD crashes, I'm left with only pretty old stuff and would be screwed too...

giving back hosting to the provider because you can't afford it is one thing

but you don't lose the domain so quickly
this is why kids should be beaten far more than they are! They simply have too much time on their wicked little hands hands. So after school send the little critters out to dig trenches at gun and whip point and make sure to tell them that they are shit (compared to now when they are the religious icon of all families) and they wont be restless and do silly stuff.

that said,...for an unnoticable fee, and with an address avaible, revenge surely is an option. how about a smack in the mouth with fist irons for each line of code deleted? each song? perhaps "cap" him?. 1600 Dkr an hour, and there are international packages for sale.

I never came to learn Nectarine. Judging from the many responses here, I figure that I have missed something big. r.i.p.

and mysteriously first his hd crashed, and then someone hacked a linux box to root level through a php script and deleted not only the data but also the backups on the server...

do you buy that?

axel: could be, but of all possibilities, the official version is the least credible

A few DVDs may serve as a good way to store precious data that could, eventualy, be hacked by a fucking lamer. Never confide only on HDs.

Stupid script-kiddies! Nectarine was a cool site.

guys, seriously, would you kill a project that you worked on with passion for more than 8 years, and while you worked on new features etc? That's ridiculous.

knowing Yes a bit, I can't imagine your claims to be true.

What did happen to ojuice.net already ?

besides, people like Premium, Mystra and myself were in the oneliner chat while that scriptkiddie (username was xfdf or something like that) was there. And that guy talked to us about the vulnerability, about a password of another user (bombman71), which he confirmed to be true, and so on. Then he said he would want bombman71 to change his password, and deleted it. Bombman asked why he simply wants to cause harm to Nectarine, instead of being creative and at least tell us what the vulnerability is. And he said because he doesn't get anything in return. He also called Nectarine a "faggy forum". I don't even think he knew it's a radio. Also, the user's English was a lot better than Yes', using some slang words etc. Oh and the guy said he is drunk, which seemed to be in line with some typos he made in the hurry.

so basically, it seems like he took everything down "on his way out". Because the site was still up after he stopped talking on the oneliner.
