Sundown 2009

category: general [glöplog]

Well hello! Sundown is back once again, like a recurring nightmare, except not. It's a demoparty, held in a wee hall in the South West of the UK, where once a year we exhibit the finest in demoscene demolition.

We have an internet:
http://www.sundowndemoparty.org/

And although competitions are undergoing finalisation, you may as well get your entries together! Those of you planning to fuck up your flights to Assembly, or flake out finishing on time for other parties are more than welcome to send productions to us remotely, so let me be the first to welcome Fairlight, ASD, Andromeda, Orb, SQNY and Farb-Rausch to the party! :)

Any questions? Post here.

Any bacon pictures? Oh go on, post here as well. We will be doing Bacon Sandwiches again, woohoo!

(Oh, and our soundsystem is going to be kick ASS this year. Our projector screen is bigger than MAIN demoparty's one, I'm lying, but it's nice.)

I would have so come, except for the fact that Britain hates Schengen. :/

Is reed not playing again?
Since Reed contracted swine flu on his chinese leg of his "between the lines" tour, he's on a hiatus of touring until further notice.

I've actually managed to book the time off for that weekend so it looks like I'm going :-)

Not sure of any other visitors, there should be at least one other coming with me, depends on finances I guess.

Lifts from London to Sundown aren't going to be possible the usual way - for those travelling internationally, it's a good idea to check the forums.

After having a great time at Breakpoint with all the UK peepz, I promised to come to Sundown. But alas, I can't make it since my dad is throwing a party for his 65th birthday.

So drink some pints and eat a few of those horrible bacon & vanilla flavoured crisps you guys have on me :(

Felice/CIH: Yes, we are, except there are 5 of us: Me, Nosfe, DDT, Solarius, and Evil. (Evil is coming from Portugal and meeting us at Stansted.)

We had started looking at MegaBus, as some friends in Exeter suggested that. (They're folks who we're staying with on Sunday evening, thus, um, there's this "return trip" we have to figure out as well.) However the various folks on #ukscene have suggested that perhaps this is a good way to roast marshmallows by the roadside while watching the bus burn.

Solarius is coming from somewhere else, and we have an extra ticket (already mentioned to Reed and Decipher) so we may indeed be _6_ - isn't organizing trips fun? Aren't you glad we bought tickets in February? Aren't you glad that Megatrain would not let us book tickets then, because they can't imagine anyone would want to book ahead? (Apparently they asked the Norwegians how to run their booking system or something.)
