ansiviewer for ipod touch/iphone

category: general [glöplog]

anyone know of the existance of an ansiviewer for the ipod touch and/or the iphone?
i'm looking for something like acidview to browse through artpacks, the least attractive alternative would be converting single ansis to png, but i'd rather go the easy and comfortable way.

I don't know anything about the iPhone, but if there's a web server app for it, I'd go down that route.

Webserver, php, ansilove and custom made php directory script to browse all asciis/ansis.

tried that before, but it seems like all repositories that bring apache are dysfunct or neglecting icy/cydia, and lighttpd isn't really working on my side. is there anything else next to those 2?

I'd buy an app that would let me browse and view ascii and ansi online. Just saying - there's a business idea in there somewhere. :)

Done a quick google search, but I can't see anything else other than Lighty and Apache 1.3.3.7. There was one other app I found, called ServersMan, or something similar. I don't think it's in the cydia repos. I didn't look much into it as it appears to be defunkt.

There seems to be lots of short tutorials for installing lighty via cydia and setting it up for php. Maybe lighty can be installed manually? Maybe the installer cocked up the first time and might install on a second/third try?

Let me know how you get on. :)

I'll mess with the lighty config on it later. I run lighty anyway.

But to be honest, converting a3b might be better - changing it from needing QT.
any news on that matter? alas, i didn't get further with lighty on my pod at all.

Maybe MobileTerminal could be used with something like TetraView/TetraDraw, although I'm not suer if MobileTerminal runs *nix apps. It's worth a shot. If that works, Ansi/Ascii drawing and viewing would be easily doable via the iPhone.

Apparently there's talks of porting DOSbox to the iPhone, but SDL needs to be ported first, which is where the root of the problem in porting DOSbox lies. Maybe it'll happen soon, who knows.
