Then again - this is always a difficult issue. We had people also complaining about the volume level when we organized TRSAC, so matter of taste regarding that issue seems to be quite different. Loud music can be irritating, however I personally think it's a part of the "demo-party experience".
(yeah ok, lug00ber did have a bit too loud sessions last year :D)

Thanks for the great party. Been awhile since my last, but hopefully it won't be 13 years till next time.

Regards to the crew, and all the nice people i nagged/talked to both inside and outside the partyplace. Got really inspired to do scene-stuff in one form or another.

Request for next year: optimal volume settings. Why have too high volume to enjoy the compositions, and then give out earplugs? It's not like it's a bad or too big party room, everyone in the room could enjoy the music instead. I can see "booming volume" for some of the music compos, ok, but for the rest of the party...

As you may or may not have noticed, there were frequent requests for higher volume during all compos this year (including graphics, when we played classical music that were non-related to the actual compo).

The earplugs are ment as an option for those who don't like loud music, so that you can enjoy the compo together with everyone else. It's probably not possible to please everyone, but this year I felt the volume level was mostly well received.
We (I) also managed to cut the PA at just after 0300 both nights this year, which is a 2,5 hours improvement from earlier years. This year, I think even Steel would have been able to get some sleep :D

I thought it was too loud last year - this year was perfection!

wow what a party! there are so many people i would like to thank for this wonderful party experience...i hope to see everyone back next year! and hopefully also meet somewhere else in between. also, i apologize for getting a bit drunk saturday night - it got to the point where is lost the ability to actually speak - this is not good :)

Does that mean you forgot the conversation we had on Saturday? :)

leia .. taken the partyplace in context, missing out on showers on sunday is not that bad, but when the showers sign was on the bigscreen a simple addition like "also, there will be no showers tomorrow, so go today" would have been enough. Luckily our dnb-dance-session lasted shorter than the one we had at trsac, but our landing in billund did make me swet till the point where you aren't that pleasant to be around ;-)

... but .. on the other hand, that's the ONLY fucking thing i can even try to complain about, and being the whiny bastard I am, that's a huuuuuuge compliment to the organizers ;)

now now, no need to imply profanity just because you missed out on the party itself!

Awesome party. Thanks for making it possible organizers, and glad to meet all of you who attended.

I'm not good on this computer thing. So you glop-whores can try this:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/117528/calamity-mode.zip

It's my modest demo that placed 8th in the demo compo, but at least this year we got votes. This version is fixed from party version but visually identical.

ohyeah btw the volume was perfect i agree. even with the loud dubstep session on i was able to sleep fine on saturday night (with earplugs that is). in general i think the compos went really smooth. except i had the idea that gargaj was stressed all the time :-) (were you?)

i also want to give a shout out to the danish crew.. they were so thankful for the few beers i brought that they gave me enough vodka and cigarettes to never see the age of 40. thanks for that :)

phed: thanks for bringing a demo again anyway :)

@menace: Nothing to do with chillout - just don't understand why not play contributions (and sound admin playlists) at top quality and a volume level that makes it enjoyable to hear the stuff musicians have spent hours/weeks mixing to perfection?

I can (maybe) understand "bass boost", but not mid-hi boost, that's just ear torture.

Anyway, no biggie. Just the only bad thing about the party and will make me think twice about attending again. Just for that single reason. I really suffered. Snyft. :,(

skrebbel: gargaj always looks stressed, no matter what, in my experience :-)

nerve: just a pleasure. i still have miles to go - and isn't it typical when i make a demo that's 10 times better than last year that the level of the entries scale accordingly.

I made a small blog-post at http://takeyour.pantsoff.dk/. I didn't get to take too many pictures this time, because I was enjoying the party instead :D
