Ow I just splashed boiling water in my eye, also, what renderer for wilds?

Tea is dangerous!

What renderer do people use for offline-rendered wilds? Maxwell and Octane are nice and can make pretty things real easy, but there's also Pixie and Modo and LuxRender and Arion and so on. This is of course assuming that you've set up your demotool/engine to work with them in a non face-stabbing-painful kind of way.

I've only got experience with a couple of physically-based ones (Maxwell and Octane), so it'd be nice to get some other people's comments.

The Universe is the ultimate raytracer. If you have a camera you can use it. ;)
