what is that ?

category: offtopic [glöplog]
Like, Wade knows anything about music composing and making and people should care about what he says. That's exactly what I was saying about "remove boards and comment systems from the internet" because it allows people like that saying bullshit that could hurt someone.

This is a thread of appreciation, people are here to say "hey nice work! nice everything" if you feel like you have to say crap against someone, it tells a lot about what and who you are.

It's like musicians saying "I would have prefered this track into this prod"... it would just mean "why did you didn't ask me for a tune?". Again, I just realize how much stupid I've been during years.
tron tribute? wtf?
who the hell said it is related to tron?

Everyone should be entitled to their own opinion. Good or bad. If someone doesn't like the soundtrack of a prod, why shouldn't they be allowed to share their opinion? I mean - if I were to chose from either no feedback to my music at all and only positive feedback, I'd actually prefer no feedback at all. Often - it's the criticism, that helps me develop as a musician. As when someone points out that my basskick is too lame or a snare is overly reverberated.

As I see it, Wade's only issue here, is that he points out the bad things, but in a way the composer can't use for anything. It's like just saying "You stuff sucks" - it's pretty hard for someone to benefit from such a statement. If it had been that he didn't like the genre or had suggested other ways of building the tune, the composer could have benefited from it, granting him the possibility to improve.

But even so - music is like colors. Some will like it, some won't and to be honest, I think it's important to hear from both sides of the hedge here. That's just my two cents

Indeed very nice. And I must say that the soundtrack fits perfectly with the visuals.

unc, I remember someone said something about cdak regarding the fact it felt it was hitting hard the 4k limit.

I must say I love this commitment of yours of getting rid of that limit and pushing your idea this far. This truly is some great work.

Great stuff with great, fitting soundtrack.

Punqtured: If you start to listen at most people here, you'll end up with a classic demoscene chiptune tracks with a big UNTZ and a WOWOWOWOOWOW so I suggest you should never pay attention to criticism... unless you're making music to be liked by others. But that's an other story. The story is: what the fuck are we talking about and what the fuck wade is talking about?

And no, some people shouldn't be necesarily allowed to say bullshit on the internet, they should at least reread twice, three times or more before being sure they NEED, for _themselves, to post this. If they really need to express their feelings, they should invest some time trying to understand why they need to say they dislike something. Why would you need to say "I dislike" to someone? Is there any good reason in the world to come and say "hey, what you've done, I disliked it", is it my brain only which is bugging hard trying to understand.

Weirdly enough, nobody felt it necessar to come and tell me, at a demoparty, "hey, I dislike your music"... will it be useful? If not, why are people doing it on the internet? God damn it, it pisses me so much not to understand this anylonger because some months ago, it was making a lot of sense to me but I just forgot whyyyyyyyy

And fuck guys, this prod rocks, that's all this thread is about.
punqtured: he didn't offer any feedback - he suggested it was a tron tribute and should have some actual music. Pretty insulting to both unc + brothom states! That's like us suggesting wade's pictures are lolcat tributes, and he needs to add "PLS CAN HAS COOKIES?" in a big font.

To be fair I've had LOADS of criticism about my pictures. I've taken it on board and try to steer my stuff in a different direction whenever I can.

I did infact comment that the prod was "very nice", but I honestly don't consider those few chords as a proper soundtrack. I never said Brothomstates is a bad musician. I've never really heard any serious compositions from him so I can't judge, but the track for this demo was too basic to make an impact on me.

As for the comment about it being a Tron tribute, how can anyone deny that? It's obviously inspired by Tron and everything about it looks like Tron. Why do people consider that a bad/insulting thing? Tron Legacy was awesome!

"this prod rocks, that's all this thread is about." : yeah...and we want a real time version :)

Oh and since I didn't make it clear: the visual side of the production is astounding.

knl: You completely missed my point ;-) I can safely say so, since you point out the exact same things I did. Apart from the bit, where you think some people shouldn't be allowed to post shit on the internet.

If you read something, you think is crap, but someone else wrote sincerely, consider what you're actually trying to achieve by replying to it. Basically, you're saying someone's opinion is crap because his opinion on another topic was that it was crap. When stating your disagreement, are you seriously hoping for a reply like: "Oh, sorry guys, I now see I was completely wrong, and everyone else is right"? That'd be a first, I'm sure :-D

So now, Wade just says this track is too basic to make an impact on him... whcih mean he's clearly someone who look at excessively complicated music. I bet he listens to metal. Because, yes, as gloom already stated, I'm very judgemental :)
Btw I never commented on the actual subject, so I'm just going to say I love those videos in every aspect.

Never heard Claro or Qtio? You should also try more ambient music, try Tim Hecker or early Stars Of The Lid.

Tron didn't exactly invent lowpoly glowing wireframe models. I think it is pretty insulting to compare this to commercialised mass produced crap. Just read what psionice said previously.

to make it clear: visuals in cdak intro were inspired by this track (zeo-x-s), and NOT by tron at all.

knl: If you can't express your disliking of something, can you really tell other people that you dislike them expressing what they dislike without being a hypocrite?

Can you just try to read what I'm saying and what it implies and not reading every bits of what I'm saying and try to do some cheap situation reversing trick... that is so internets, please, try.
