I did notice some trailers for those films on youtube, but I can't say I'd heard of them until now.

As for that Brian Eno track, I admire the talent it takes to play a piano, but personally speaking I found it very boring and bland. I'd have been just as content listening to nothing at all.

But I will say when it comes to music I prefer something with a kick, that gets my adrenalin flowing or something that gives me nostalgic vibes and feeling.

I terms of ambient style stuff, I prefer something like Mike Oldfield or Bola's Soup album (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lz9itUo5xtc) as I find it soothing, but at the same time, there's enough complexity to keep my attention.

So can we just say that you specifically don't enjoy minimalism?

Gargaj: Yep, that's fair assessment. I wish I could understand what sceners get out of it and take a more diplomatic attitude, but I kinda resent it if I'm honest because it undermines the hard work of (in my opinion) more talented, dedicated and intelligent artists/musicians.

Wade: you could learn a lot by taking one of your own pictures, and seeing how much you can take away from it without losing the core feeling + meaning of the picture. It's a hugely underestimated skill, not laziness ;)

Psonice: Well I do have an idea for a semi-minimalist painting, which I think will make a powerful statement. Part of me is thinking it's too basic and that's what's holding me back, but I should really just do it and see if I can pull off this minimalism thing. :)

What I like about minimalism is that it's so subtle and captivating. It doesn't exhibit stupendous ammount of content, but little details that you can focus on all at the same time and really let yourself get immersed into the work. Most non-abstract art just bores me.

But I really I dont know, that's just my own speculation and I guess in the end that's one of the reasons people enjoy any kind of art in general. But I can still apprciate almost any kind of art just for sake of it, even though I myself may not enjoy or like it.

I judge art and music the same way I judge women. Sure, it's nice to chill out with a smart chick and have an intelligent and mind-expanding discussion, but at the end of the day it's the girl with big tits, slim waist and a tight ass who get's my pulse racing and captures my attention. :)

I see Unc's demo as one of those hot chicks with an annoying voice, like Jessica Simpson or Kim Kardashian. Great to look at, but they'd be better if they just kept quiet. :)
