It was? http://www.amiscena.org/portal.php works just fine.

The explanation is fairly simple. It was due to a combination of a few things:

1a) The engine behind the web-site grew old and at some point became difficult to manage. Introducing even a fairly simple feature required a lot of time..
1b) ..and despite a lot of requests, there was nobody to code a new one. Or to set up a new web-site, using existing CMSes
2a) Then come the priority shifts. Time goes on, Slaves (main admin) decided he no longer had time to admin the web-site on his own.
2b) ..and so did I (co-admin/moderator), but I went into a suspended mode a long time before the web-site has finally shut down, leaving Slaves on his own. Priority shifts as well or, if you'd like to put it that way, "life".

Recently a new scenish web-site called "startup-sequence.pl" launched. You could try giving it a try.

Maybe you should redirect the domain then?

Where to? Amiscena is a strictly Polish place, startup-sequence, on the other hand, is mostly news-oriented. Anyhow, if there was anybody out there interested in picking up the pieces, please give a shout to Slaves.

There was a lot of talk about redirecting domain to different host but I doubt it will ever happen.

Than there is ofcourse the new polish party website:

(soon filled with more info..)

Well, putting a few links on the "we're closed" page might help.

We-can.pl??? Is this for Riverwash 2012?
added on the 2012-04-18 20:13:40 by Forcer Forcer
Yeah, WeCan is a successor of Riverwash

WeCan .. that sounds a little bit like Obama's slogan.

Who's organizing it? fey and Voyager?
added on the 2012-04-18 20:23:43 by Forcer Forcer
Well, I'm sure about kbi and voyager. I don't think that Fei is involved in organizing it! :)

Maybe it's wiccan?
added on the 2012-04-18 20:27:58 by Gargaj Gargaj
It's like Wicca but on a big screen.

Well, somebody should also say that scene.pl admins had they own stubborn attitude that this portal and domain were their children and wouldn't allow the dirty part of demosceners (amiscena.org and people that do attend parties) to modify it. Let it rot. It was dead since couple of years. All the activity is on www.amiscena.org (only in polish), and startup-sequence.pl (news related).

And yes - feel invited to a new party that we coorganize this year - Wecan.
We have a nice new place comparable to Function site, and a dozen of attractions :). And we won't screw the compos this year he he :D.

I have nothing to do with WeCan (other than coming to the party, of course), I also don't think V0yager is involved. Riverwash is gone because we're old and retired. WeCan is organized by those young, handsome and naive who came after us.

I don't think there's any problem with creating an English thread on amiscena.org, if you want to get in touch with Polish demoscene. Of course, the usual warnings and disclaimers apply, though I haven't heard about anybody being forced to drink to death over the Internet... yet.

Just for clarity: V0yager in fact does have his share in organising the party, but it's mostly behind-the-curtains type of help. He's most likely going to be pissed drunk during the event :)
