Texture-mapping artist wanted

category: gfx [glöplog]
Hi guys,

I'm looking for a texture-mapping artist for my next demo to be released next year.
The demo is still in its early stages but is advancing fairly quickly.
I need the help of a texture artist to join me and my crew of two other friends.
We are working with 3ds max. Please contact me at tda@ninjacode.org if you'd like to get in touch.
Many thanks in advance :)

Best wishes,
Breakneck/TDA

so lemme get this straight... you just need a regular 2d artist to brush up your already unwrapped uv maps, or do you need the prior steps also? cos in that case, i wish you good luck finding someone ;)
good luck!
textures are a matter of procedurality in the scene nowadays ;)
nah, for real:
why dont you and your two friends try to apply to a bigger group, which have artists already?
as i am the only active pc-coder in trsi i gotta ask if you maybe wanna get in contact with us @ www.trsi.de ;)
( this will bring a massive shitStorm again in the way of "trsi is taking in everyone nowadays!" -> nah, we check for quality first, then make an offer, or not! :p i am just SICK of being ALONE! i need more productive coders in my boat! :P )
hardy: would you please shut up now.

breakneck: good luck, looking forward to your demo!

hardy's point is sort of valid. depends on the meshes ;)
breakneck: have you asked kazuya?

las: FUCK YOU! (see other thread for explanation!)
We've also always looked for artists since 2007 ;) The're very rare... and the few ones really doing something are being kicked in the ass hard lately.

Artist/designer willing to work in strange nerdy tool instead of prefered ones are rare too these days. If you hear of one that's lost in the woods, let me know - I'm sure we'll have a nice, cosy place for him/her to spend the weekends ;)

@psenough do you think he would post here if he had other resources?
@Punqtured 3ds max is hardly a strange nerdy tool.

@xernobyl: We need a designer/artist that knows how to make the shit we do in our 64k tool look nice. That - and ofcourse use the intro tool to create remotely interesting meshes as well :D

xernobyl: who knows? he might.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your feedback.

Maali: I need someone who will paint the textures and do the UVs as well... if this is asking too much I will have to find some other way.

Hardy: Would TRSI be willing to introduce me to one of their texture artists, perhaps so we could just have a quick conversation to assess compatibility for the collaboration? That would be cool. Let me know.

PS: Hi dude :) Kazuya's speciality is not textures, and although there is a portuguese dude that I'd love to have do them, he is currently drowning in work so there is no chance. That's why I'm posting here, but there's still a long way to go, maybe things will change in the meantime.

Peace,
Breakneck

Aren't there auto UV tools, in 2012?

An auto-UV tool is only as good as the person using it.

If triplanar mapping isn't enough, then you're doing a crappy 3d flyby and you should forget the whole prod and start a new one with real effects.

Would be nice to see a proper flyby again after a while...

@pommak he's not doing a crappy 3d flyby.
@nytrik only with automatic tools.

...eehrmm, NO!
the scene is about being cool, putting out unseen shit, or new shit just better shown, NOT about flying thru some pre-designed-geometry! that was 2000 maybe! good i missed that!
kenet: i didnt say a word yet, but believe in someone with higher brainpower than you: you are acting really childish all the time since h2o left facebook! :p he´s only gone due to him getting accused of ripping! he never needed to rip anything, as he is producing high quality images since forever! this must have hurt him to death! i hate how you treated him!
now you are partying having brought someone to fall-down! without actually having the right to, theres no answer yet by markus himself, but you are having a blast, cause you won! won what again? won having one less competitor? how does that help YOU? how does that help THE SCENE?
well, ok, you won :p (markus is going to leave the scene now! thanxalot, idiot!)
