Union, Union Systems and SideLine?

category: offtopic [glöplog]

Hello folks,

recently an old DOS game from 1996 called SideLine has surfaced. It's a 2D-scrolling shooter, similar to Gradius and R-Type. It was apparently developed by a Taiwanese group called Electronic Music And Graphic Software Inc.

I managed to get my hands on the full version of the game and it seems it was only released in Poland. The title screen, which can be seen in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQmQ-9t7aAY at the 12:30 mark, reads "Copyright (C) Union Systems" along with EMAG's name.

I was informed by a Polish friend that Union Systems used to be in the Amiga demoscene as Union. Does anybody know if this is true? And if so, how could I contact any Union members who would know something about this? I would very much like to discuss the game with someone who knows its history, as it's truly a perplexing case.

Respectfully,
Ghegs

Business way of polish demoscene group Union is true. They have some game titles that were released and some that only announced and did not come out (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=43383). So that's inevitable their game (moreover - Polish text left during loading).
I don't know any of them personally, but you can try to reach someone by emails at http://union.pl or http://www.union.com.pl ( -> http://www.union.com.pl/artur/ )

Thank you grogon! I had found union.pl and tried sending e-mails to those addresses, but they bounced right back. I just sent Artur an e-mail, hopefully he can shed some light into the matter.

Sorry, I just realized that the page doesn't display if you are not logged in. If you like, I'll send it to you (I don't want to put here - in the public - someones private data).
