Anyone with a registered copy of MadTracker 2?
category: music [glöplog]
Needing some help here for a Nectarine radio project. I'm trying to round up "example songs" that came with various trackers to add to the radio. I've hit a stumbling block with MadTracker, because .wav export is crippled in the Shareware version.
Can someone with a registered version of MadTracker 2 render the example songs, high quality settings, and provide .flac recordings of the results?

Maybe use a vst(i)-based .wav-writer?
if noone has it, i could rerecord in absurd quality... if it's not too many songs (takes time)
You can still buy it, no?
well in that case you should buy it :)
Like numtek says, a plugin like Voxengo Recorder should do the trick if you're patient enough.

Oh! I wasn't aware it was still actively being distributed. Nice! The legal route obviously is the only correct one. Also buy Renoise while you're at it, because it rocks.
Using a recorder plugin isn't exactly illegal. :) And suppose you just wanted to record example songs from both Renoise and MadTracker and nothing else (in particular not using them for composing music) - why would you want to spend a combined 100€ on those products for that purpose?
saga, we should support those devs :)

Did you try to search for MadTracker 2 cracktro? If it exists then... you know...
Still waiting for my Nectarine multichannel compo prize copy of MadTracker 2!! I can help as soon as it arrives.
raina :D
So you won it? Can't remember anymore. The compo was in 2005.

No but in all seriousness, I think the developers deserve support whenever possible.
Keep in mind that you are talking about a software that was last updated in early 2006. I'm sure Yannick has other ways of making money these days, and after you bought the license you won't get any bugfixes or other updates in return.
I fully support buying software that you actually use but at the same time I think that using a recording plugin for something that you are going to do exactly once and then never touch the software again isn't exactly a crime. Also it won't give you the highest possible quality regarding interpolation in MT2, but it's probably going to be the most faithful representation of those example songs (i.e. they will sound the way they were intended to be played).

Or, you know, send an email to the guy and ask if he still wants money for something from 2006.

@Serpent I think I was 3rd. It was pretty close, I think I would've won with a self-vote. ;)
Yes now i can see Jazzcat won it (i was 4th)
-pOWL! was able to help me out with recordings. It turns out that only two of the demo songs allow wave-render by other users, so the rest we couldn't do with the registered version anyway.
Thanks all!
Thanks all!
Allow wave rendering by a user...?? What. Record the rest from the computer’s audio output or a virtual loopback device if necessary.
Wow, a tracker with DRM?
Or as said several times in the thread, use a recording VST plugin on the master because that will not be affected by
- possible audio dropouts in realtime audio playback
- audio from other applications
- global master limiter on the Windows mixer

I know you're joking (probably) and that compo was from (at least) two site iterations ago, but we're working on some simple Nectarine swag/merch* and I'd be happy to send you some for free when that launches. I know it's not equivalent to a tracker, but it'll at least be something updated more recently than 2006. ;) Send me a PM on the the new Nectarine site if you're interested.raina:

* right now some just some stickers and a window cling; keeping it simple to start.
Anyone working on a compo system? ;)
