So, let me see if I got this straight.

If I feel like maintaining the data of my own party and complete it to perfection I can only do this by sending 30 requests to an operator?

video-file upped:

Psychad: Yes, if you find wrong information about prods from your own or other people you need to write a request here (better) or write a mail (not that good). If you want, you are free to post all requests in one post. It just would be a pure overkill of the system if for every party and for every group there would be a possibility to edit own products.

If you only find missing information you are (mostly) free to add them by yourself. That can be release dates (question for all: Singular date becomes data in plural, but why not when we talk about the plural of release date? Or am I just wrong?), release parties, competitions (if a compo is missing and not equal to another one bring up a request), rankings, infos, screenshots...
If a prod is missing, please do a search first. If it wasn't found, just submit it.

Quote:
I maintain my own ftpserver for my party (deadline) and it's releases because scene.org repacks the archives, re-organizes and renames the compos.
Well, I'm not a member of the scene.org staff but I'm a bit happy that they do it.
Adding the scene.org.txt? Why not, many BBSes have done the same.
Repacking the archives? Why not, I'll hardly find a non-"standard" archiv there so I'm pretty sure that after a download I'll be able to depack it.
Changing the componames? Why not, it makes it pretty easy to find the (for you) most important compos because they are often named the same. (demos => "./demos/", 64k => "./in64", 4k => "./in4k/", ...) When searching for a prod I can often directly go to the compo directory because the scene.org directory structure makes sense (typing the full path into the url field is often faster than going from dir to dir to dir ..).

Toxie: I assume it's the one from openskynet, which isn't in best quality. I was waiting for DeeKay and weasel to do a better one. ... But ok added. :)

2001 edition does not exist, the prod listed was released in 2000

fixed: I hope you're already working at the demo for the next STNICCC, there are only about 10 years left to finish it. If you'd ask me, not very much time. ;)
want to know something : Are IPs saved into the database when submitting an user, or something like that ? (last login or...)

the only people repacking archives are some fucking party organizers. i get mad everytime when my beautiful 8+3 acronym-based release filenames get repacked to smth with shitload of numbers before it. i havent seen scene.org mutually repack anything though.

dip (or someone other): enemy by Phase Truce could be found in the Apocalypse '99 results but the file_id.diz from the downloaded file says:
Code: ::::::: «- phase trUce! -» :: ::______ :: :: ._/_____ _____. _________ :: :: l__ /-\ |_ / ::::::: l/ __ _/ /_._ :: |____|_____\|_____| ______/ | :: | «-|--::---------Bd!/L¹24----------------|-» | | | Enemy by Phase Truce | | | | 64kB intro from The Gathering'99 | | | «-|-------------------------------------|-»

Any suggestions?
Change the group of this into this.

you can remove this aswell, it's a man, not a group

maden: it occurs often that a release was planned for a party, written file_id.diz and then not delivered or finished, and ppl forget to update the file_id.diz when delivering it to next party. i believe its what happened in this case.

lai: groupnames for man are not banned from pouet. nosfe and rez among many others exist for example. the prods would be alot harder to find beeing groupless so we dont care.

skarab: yes skarab we know its you when you create new fake accounts, stop doing them, grow up and stand behind your words.

ps: i meant this man specifically. but you can leave it as is i guess

i mean, it's different for different prods and people. Mermaid has made lots of stuff by her self on here but it's added as "creators" and not "mermaid". kinda same here: we can see in the prod unreal present: blablabal, but still, it's a one man job.

i leave it to the creators (no pun intended) criteria. if they whine to get it groupless or under their oneperson groupname group or under their lazy groupmates group i'll fix it, otherwise just leave it as was submitted.

and ps, i'm not speaking about a fake account, but about a new account, actually the fake account is this one.

The link works fine here, therefore it should not be changed unless one of the authors explicitly makes a request :)

skarab: well, we think it shouldnt. we rather be able to tell the idiot morons who enjoy using fakeaccounts to torment the admins with retarded functionalities implemented solely to ignore their abuse and slow down the database access that they are morons and should stop existing from the face of the earth. if you cant stand behind a point of view and explain your claims with a real account, you shouldnt be logged in annoying everyone else.
