grabbed the last code from noby and setup https://bsky.app/profile/psenough.bsky.social. no clue how much i'll use it but i guess i can commit to using it for stuff that would usually get thrown into all my social media and just see how it evolves. mastodon and cohost didn't really do much for me (not as much engagements as twiteer used to have 3-4 years ago) but yeah facebook and twitter seem largely dead and owned by assholes, need to try something else.

This makes sense, when you are still in beta (what bsky is) and you are dealing wih serverload. Atm every user gets a sintgle invite code every week. This means that the usercount will max double every week.

The mass transfer from Twitter / X would may probably cause system instabilities otherwise.

Be careful, there's a lot of bots grabbing the codes posted publicly, especially on social networks like X and Bluesky. Since they all start with bsky-social, this is very easy to do.

For example check firesky.tv and filter by "bsky-social" :)
ATprotocol is completely open so everyone can connect to it and get all messages, even old ones.

If your codes are mostly used for spam accounts, the moderation team said they may also close the account that gave the codes.
The invite-only system should disappear soon, after they finish upgrading the platform.
