Help with "Farb-Rausch Compacted Content" file

category: general [glöplog]

Been looking at Inverse Entertainment's game "Michael Schumacher World Tour Kart 2004" recently because I wanted to get the music tracks out of it. As you (may) know, Inverse Entertainment was formed by some Farbrausch guys like KB and Ronny, and they put out a couple games in the early 00s. The music has a tracker sound and I want to see if I can get at it directly! (Musician does not appear in the in-game Credits, but Ronny claims credit at his about me page.)

Anyway, MSWTK 04 comes with everything packed in a huge data file called "msworldtour.fcc" with the header "Farb-Rausch Compacted Content", followed by a huge binary soup. I was hoping someone here might know anything at all about this format, how to unpack it or work with it? I did look at kkrunchy but that is aimed at packing .exe files, it did not seem to know what to do with this one. Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi hornpipe2,

you can download the soundtrack here: https://files.abraum.de/d/6fa11455db3f4c5f983d

While I used Buzztracker, everything was rendered to .wav. Then, like Gargaj said, implemented as .ogg for easy looping. The folder above contains 320kb mp3s though.
