Now, why the heck do my english suck?

category: general [glöplog]
Optimus: I think your main problem is how paragraphs are often used as sentences.
I suggest a spellingstarz filter, the sooner the better ! My poor neurons and axons have had enough !
You speak fluently english for me (I think you optimize your text too ;p I mean <BR>less hehe)
And my english is toilet quality™ ><
stanz: yes
optimus: no

I will become annoying if I write again, but I know the grammar of does/do/sucks/suck. It was just the plural that puzzled me. But yes, when I write english, there are a lot of things that I for once ignore, cause I don't care that much for anyting else rather than saying something..

Jetzt, klingt mein Deutsch furchtbar? ;)

Consider this statement at length
when you write a lot of english text, it might be a good idea to actually read a lot (i mean books or newspapers, not only forums and blogs). the point is that when a child learns a language, it learns by example. the grammar comes naturally.

i would advise to structure your text better. also, try to write shorter and more terse sentences. other than that, your english is pretty much readable.
Why do your english suck? well it cant be because you arent using it enough.

flashp: You could improve your written english by actually making use of the "shift" key.

internet is so full of bad english that everyone's used to it. what is essential how you depict your topic, not how flawless your english is.

my 2 cents to you, optimus: learn to shorten your novels into short stories and people will understand better what you're after. :)

norwegians for instance have no need for english proficiency, they just deny you oil sales if you complain about their english.

wouldnt the world be a much better place if we all could just type engrish control oil sales and bash seals on a daily basis?

Optimus: When you're again planing on writing optimus sized posts think about writing them with an editor. You'll improve it just by the fact you have more space and are able to see and read your written text. And yes, the German sentence wasn't your best one. ;)
Does it matter ? :) English suck in any way, 'couse russian RULE ! :)

Tyler: Maybe, but English is not the world language for being nice or something, it's widely spread due to its simplicity. Only 4 cases, one article, short words, 26 letters, ...

Or speaking in terms of demos, English is the 64k-Demo under the languages. ;)
When I've try to translate my OGL tutorial (that includes some russian movie's jokes) from russian to english, stylus 3.0 crashed on words "пришить бы вас, да возится неохота"... Don't know what makes this bug, but that's was pretty funny :)

Something along the lines of "you'd better get killed, but i'm too lazy to bother".

We had enough cyrillic letters here, no try again to switch to latin ones or СТФУ!
not that i would care much about anyone's english-skills, but just stumbled over a good example...
optimus: "[...]then I found some glasses in a friend but I couldn't say anything, perhaps I wasn't looking too focused and I was also doing it in a hurry"

so where exactly IN your friend did you find these glasses? :)
not to mention wtf you where probably doing there...

you don't really expect anyone to actually follow such sentences?
or, in the first place, actually read them?
which again rises the question why you're writing them...
