FREAX Vol. 1. released at Assembly 2005!

category: general [glöplog]
The Big Demoscene History Book, which you've been all waiting for since ages is becoming reality. Volume 1. of 'Freax' has just entered printing today. It will be first available at Assembly 2005, likely also presented at the Seminars (not yet confirmed officially). The first volume is about the history of demoeffects and the Commodore 64 and the Amiga scene. It is in English, 300 pages, hard cover, very high quality, with hundreds of colorful photos and screenshots. After the party it will be available from online and offline distributors worldwide.
Thanks to everyone who helped this very long and laborious project.
FREAX Vol. 2., the second volume about the history of the PC scene and other platforms is planned for Spring 2006.

Excellent to release a demoscene book in the year that the demoscene died.

Keops: You should visit that shoppe too. Okkie only sells AMIGAAAAAAAAAA.
Great news! What's the retail / Assembly price going to be?
added on the 2005-07-09 20:09:28 by melw melw
Price is 35 Euros, however, it'll be probably just 30 at parties. It's unfortunately not up to me to decide, and it's not 100% settled yet. But it won't be more for sure.

great!
I'll only buy it if there's an entire chapter devoted to "the scene is dead."
:D
