Usually when people ask about "my first demo experience" i reply unreal/fc. But i think i prolly saw some demos even before that because i faintly remember seeing fishtro before asm92 and actually waiting to see the releases from asm92.

Also chronologia/cascada and crystal dream/triton are one of the few legendary demos of that period that i remember.

I saw many from the Amiga and the Atari ST, but the first one where I really discovered there was such a thing as the "demoscene", was Panic, at endings of 1992.

Like the one that made me say "I want to make demos" :)

Got my first demos on disk from a local friend. First one was probably Vectordemo by Ultraforce, in the summer of 1992, which prompted me to get a SoundBlaster. Then came Unreal, Coldcut, Space Pigs Megademo, etc.

If it counts, I saw the Newtek Demoreel on an Amiga in 1989 or 1990, at a local shareware/Amiga expo my dad took me to.

OK, I get it, we're a bunch of old demo geezers!

hmm... if we can't keep on cracktros, i guess it would be hardwired/tsl. with cracktros, i guess it would be unit-a cracktro for interceptor

i think it was some compilation cd with sourcecode and demos that could be bought in stores on cdrom in 1997. the cd only featured oldskool stuff like denthors mode13h tutorials plus demos like panic, 2nd reality, crackrat etc. haha i am a n00b :)

hmm. maybe http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=4066 was the first thing i've seen on pc?

It was back in 1992 on my Amiga 500. Probably it's been "Hardwired" by Silents/Crionics ( http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=981) and "In the Kitchen" by Anarchy (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=414).

The german print publication "Amiga Joker", probably the most famouse Amiga games magazine here in Germany, started with a monthly demo coverage. In every issue they wrote about four Amiga demos and I got fascinated. Everything sounded so cool and looked beautiful. Therefore I ordered my first demos from a PD dealer - and I continued ordering demos there until 1995, when I moved over to PC.

Not counting the C64 cracktros or something my cousin had made in Simon's Basic and forgetting Hubbard's Synth Samples and some sample-looping "demos"... I think Copperhead of Blade showed me Amiga demos around 1990-1991, Mental Hangover was probably first, but what about The Juggler? Cebit'90, Budbrain megademo, Audio-X!!! The Eagle has landed!

I think it was The Juggler back in late 1986 or early '87, in a computer store.

The first "scene demo" I saw was also on Amiga, in late 1987, probably TechTech or something like that.

The first C64 demo I saw, apart from cracktros, was Happy New Year/Starionin early 1988.

Hope all those link-me-beautiful tags works!
