- 40k Amiga OCS/ECS Anti-NES by Epsilon [web] & Megawatts
- I believe this scener may be one of the authors - at least he authored another production by the same group:

- 40k Amiga OCS/ECS No Assembly Required (Some Assembly Required) by Epsilon [web]
- Thumbing up for story, effort and keeping the spirit.
BTW, here's the author's blog (he mentions this release in it):

- demo Playstation 3 Retrostation by Sector One [web] & Dune
- britelite: PS3 Linux is an unique platform, not comparable with PCs.
Sony gimped PS3 Linux by not allowing it to access PS3's GPU (RSX), so normally a PS3 Linux program is not able to render 720p visuals in 60 fps.
And PS3's CPU is a hybrid of "conventional" (weak) core with GPU-like specialized cores, which is programmed quite differently than conventional CPUs. I'd say that an iPhone or Nokia N900 is much more PC-like than PS3 (especially in its nerfed PS3 Linux form).
So kudos to original author for overcoming the platform limiations and making it able to show high-res graphics in realtime.

- demo Playstation 3 Retrostation by Sector One [web] & Dune
- Well, I exaggerated with "great oldschool demo", but I was pissed off by people giving it "piggy"!
Please, DON'T JUDGE IT BY VISUALS!
It takes vastly different amount of effort to produce something like that on a usual PC (even running Linux) and on a PS3, where you are stripped off everything but CPU (with its SPUs, of course).
This demo is the only one of its kind. Giving it "piggy" IS LIKE GIVING PIGGY C64 Second Reality port just because it's not on par with PC original!

- Not only this is a great oldschool demo, this time it also was a technical challenge. RULEZ! Only PS3 makes it possible :-)

- demo ZX Spectrum Shock by Ethanol Soft Inc
- This (together with Lyra II and Pentagram's LSD) was the classic Polish demo that inspired many Russian (Ukrainian, Belorussian) sceners - Code Busters and Dream Makers just to name a few. When it appeared in Russia in early 1993 (imported and disked by some lockal hacker who obviously had contacts with Poland), there was nothing like that before. Everyone was literally shocked and I remember ZX Review article where they suggested using multicolor part of this demo as a compatibility test for numerous Spectrum clones.
There were a lot ot tributes to ESI and Pentagram later in Russian and other xUSSR demos and those groups will forever remain early Speccy scene "gods" for us :)
I still like to listen to Ziutek's tunes which are now available through Project AY :)
By the way, in the last part (epilogue) of the demo, KAZ writes that they would be trying to get in touch with someone from Russia (I wonder why, Russian ZX scene was nearly non-existent back then) and I wonder, if they really did :) - rulezadded on the 2007-12-28 10:29:23
