It's hard to tell from the photo, but if the controllers have shoulder buttons then I would guess they are for the Sega Saturn. -

- Sega the Balrog on C64 is an illegal move though
- the connector is the standard db9 indeed, has one single shoulder button. i considered it being the saturn but afaik they use system derived from the megadrive (make use of the 9 wires, not just 5)
