"When performing the same experiment on the scene, there's close to zero teenagers among 2025 demo party attendants. Look closer and it becomes evident that many of the 2025 attendants are in fact the very same persons as the teenagers and twenty-somethings appearing in party photos from 1989." :D<3 -
@hot multimedia: where is that quote from? -
"No, the cow was cool but Doom engine in 8 months" :) -

GURU MEDITATION -
I feel like the average birthyear for a scener in 1985 was 1970 and the average birthyear for a scener in 2025 is 1980. We will rule the scene in 2128!! -
Looks like the Vectrex is the next retro platform to be revived. No true vector CRT tho. https://vectrex.com/ -
Pointless then -
That reminds me; could a crt made so it is much smaller these days - if we had pursued that path? -
"the average birthyear for a scener in 2025 is 1980" [citation needed]! i bet it was something like 1978 max -
Yeah, Jobs would drop iPod CRT into the fishtank and say there’s air inside, back to the drawing board. -
leGend: I thought they already did that: they were called plasma screens -

-
plasma screens have nothing to do with CRTs -
hm: They both use the same general principles, even have the same pros and cons -
Same general principles like shooting electrons from the cathode to the phosphor coated screen deflected by magnetic fields? Afaik plasma screens have a phosphor coated surface yes (like fluoroscent tube), but under that are fixed cells that have plasma inside. -
That's the difference, yes, but both were still bulky and expensive and went the way of the dinosaur :( -
So in the same way the Stonehenge and a steam locomotive are similar. -
when conversations here get so stupid that more AI almost starts sounding like a good idea -
Busybee is yearning for more AI talk -
Stonehenge, steam locomotive, plasma and CRT displays are also similar in a way that they can act as a grey screen with no music -
Stonehenge beats Scissorshenge but is weak to Paperhenge. -
Spockhenge vaporizes Stonehenge, but is disproven by Paperhenge.
