What's the longest time you'd be willing to wait for precalc in a 64k? I have some nice simulation I'd like to do, but currently 5min+ on my computer T_T -
and your computer is a p1/100 mhz? then no problem :D -
if it takes longer then 1 minute i expect it to write to disk whatever it was calculating so that next time it loads faster. -
if it's longer than the intro I thumb it down on pouet -
I think max 1 minute on a reasonably fast computer (say core2 @ 3GHz or so) -
1 minute on a fast computer sounds like a reasonable limit. I've found I rarely watch intros that calculate long.. I want my demofix fast :) - i also avoid them
- "I want my demofix" -- this, is precisely the wrong way to watch demos ;)
- what I meant is that when I want to see a demo or an intro, I do not want to wait for four minutes for it to start. I'll rather watch an another production or the video version instead.

I can allow waiting a few minutes if then the prod runs at a fine framerate; if not... I prefer video. - preacher, see, when I do those tea and demos watching nights with a scener friend here, well, loading times can still be fine!

don't mind the wait; there's always some coffee to get. try only switching to fullscreen after the wait, maybe, so that watchers can do stuff meanwhile -

You are getting sleepy.... - if the wait is worth it (i.e.: 6min for debris) then ok

debris shouldn't calc much more than one and a half minutes on any machine that is able to run it decently -
