no, not really - just use the latest version :) And you might get into all sort of compatibility issues, if you use an old version -
mentor: really, release old versions even if you think it sucks. problem is not your code, problem can be the users code that are depending on old "bugs" in your utility. -
alright :P it was more speculation as I haven't coded in C/C++ in years. Crinkler might change that though. - (i mean, its not like 4ks are developed with systemfriendlyness in mind)

Well, if people are depending on bugs in an earlier version, they already have that earlier version. :) - not nec. when they are developing a "hack" upon old code, if they had crinkler placed in, lets say a systemdir. i see your points but i dont understand the fuzz :)
- If someone wants an earlier version that badly, he is probably up to the challenge of guessing the URL. ;)
