Animatrix series were much more interesting than the Matrix itself. -
I may watch. I just hope it's not one of those "national pride" movies. The idea can be anyway tracked to Stanisław Lem's "phantomatics" from 1964 ;) -
Lem was actually slightly earlier with Summa Technologiae and his previous short essays on the topic. Galouye's Simulacron-3 was also released in 1964, most likely independently. -
bifat: well, you can call it whatever you want, but "phantomatics" was literally all about the plug in the back of your head, while simulacron was wider concept of nested simulations (which is not directly related to Matrix) -
it sounds like you are butthurt about it though -
https://culture.pl/en/article/philip-k-dick-stanislaw-lem-is-a-communist-committ ee some funny story about Philipp K. Dick's paranoia against Stanisław Lem, interesting insight to old good times of sci-fi -
4gentE: well, as I understand, they invited Lem and first thing he did was to criticize them ;P no wonder Dick thought it's a conspiracy -
¡Ay, Jesús! ¡Ese, Chuy! (Chuy is a shortcut for Jesús BTW) -

It's not about AI per se, it goes back to The Matrix. "Born into the simulation like everyone else" but from AI -
Not everything from Americas is bad. Mexicans invented burritos (some Jesús most likely) -
Yeah, because one member is actually Mexican (and others mixed). -
Idk what is dumber The Matrix or Avatar. Both did pretty well at the box office. Are you calling viewers dumb? ;) -
True, in fact it might have been smarter than The Matrix
