FUCKINGS TO ASUS! G50V just went POP then died! I had all my code on this piece of shit. Luckily my warranty is still valid but they don't do data recovery if its unfixable and its not like i can grab the hardrive before i send it in! FUCKINGS I SAY! -
Deus: I had the same problem. Look for a local ASUS repair center (if they exist). Talk what is up and should work. If not, open the PC, where the HD is, on your own and take it out. But maybe your PC does not "allow" such a manipulation... Good luck! -
It's beautiful to see demos on my old AMIGA 1200... -
sim: i was thinking about grabbing the hardrive but its the warranty im worried about, but I'll see when i call them on the morrow, luckily I live in Oslo so if there is a service center there should be one unless they only got one service center for all -
I heard ThinkPads are more durable? -
Oh they are, I used Thinkpads most of my life and i can tell you that i miss them now. -
NO VIRUS ON BOOTBLOCK! -
Hosen runter! -
Deus: They are still available? -
fol helvede! -
Not within my reach ;) -
Deus: Call them. In my case I can remove the HD without breaking the "global" warranty. It is a separated part easyly removable. BTW. Consider in buyng an external usb HD for your back ups... Losing data hurts more than paying f.ex. 800NOK... Cheers! -

SIM: how long did it take for the service to come through, kindergarden is just around the corner. -
Deus: I was waiting up to 2 weeks (but they had a laboratory at the place, so no sendings!)...Have a look at the bottom. It otta be easy to grab the HD out (and usually you do not have any warranty-stickers there). BUT BE careful about the ATA-SATA connec -
