Is the demo boom over? http://www.kameli.net/marq/?p=595 linked on demoscene.fr by LLB - The decreased release frequency without a doubt has to do with the higher overall complexity of most productions today. Simply takes more time to create something on par with the current standard.
- There is a generation effect too. Most sceners of the mid-late 80s had a break, naturally starting a family. But they are back, very motivated. There will be a trend reversal soon.
- If they're spending tons of time making massive high quality stuff instead of churning a quick cracktro out once a week, no trend reversal. But I'll take the demos over the cracktros thanks.
