nice music. fps dropped ~3 at first part when speech samples came and in machinery-scene.

strange design, kind of ugly, but still original. nice vocals in tune :) after all i enjoyed it

Kind of ugly it is.

should have placed higher, but it still lacks a lot. some of the gfx is cool, some is just plain ugly.

piece of shit. god - how could you abuse lb's music with this garbage?

should've won.
but then again, including kewlers members in the credits usually results in low ranking (and a lot of scene.org awards :)

If the effects were better and it wasn't so bloody 0xFF0000, I might've actually liked it.

gloom: at least when we get a track from an author he gets credited.

and stop your shitty eliteism already, it's getting pathetic..

for the demo: i'm not thumbing my own productions :)

we are planning a fixed version this week, so you could see what we tried to do at the party :)

sorry guys, i can't thumb up this stuff now...

leia: i'm afraid that "credited"-comment is beyond me.. and; unless the world changed radically lately, i'm entitled to speak my opinion about whatever i feel like, including this shitty demo. this site is designed for demoscene prod-feedback after all, if you haven't noticed.

oh, oh - eliteism? excuse me? do you even know me?
added on the 2004-10-04 20:44:44 by gloom gloom
gloom: oh so shapeshifter had optimize in the credits?

for the eliteism part, it's not only about you. i'm just SHIT annoyed by people thinking that because they made a good production, they're allowed to throw shit at people who's still trying. it's like... i get that a new scener going to his first party would say "wow, there's the guys who made the best demo i ever saw, they rule" .. but from that and to "wow, there's the guys who made the first demo i ever saw, they rule - and because of that - they're allowed to throw shit at me" is a QUITE big step, and a step i don't like..

my "eliteism" sentence is about you stating that lb is "too good for this demo" which is basically you deciding who's good and who sucks too much to be allowed to use music from certain people that are considered elite... and quite frankly; that's a shitty attitude
added on the 2004-10-04 22:18:35 by leijaa leijaa
leia: in fact, yes, it does. the track is a remix i did of an optimize-tune, scheduled for 12" release back in 2002. if you had heard the original, i'd be even more surprised in you, using this against me.

regarding elitism: shut up. it's not about "someone having made a good production throwing shit at others", it's about the the freedom to be seriously dissapointed in a production and being allowed to say: "hey, this is crap".

lb's music: oh come on - haven't you ever seen a demo where the music is *kickass* but everything else sucks? or where the code is supergood but the graphics is bad as hell?

now; shut the hell up and stop dictating the way we are allowed to open our mouths.
added on the 2004-10-05 07:23:21 by gloom gloom
everyone is allowed to say whatever they want - it's just a matter of manners what they do...
i think the moral of this debate is that comparing producitions to human excrement surpasses the level of criticism (or feedback, as you put it) and becomes more just arrogance.
added on the 2004-10-05 08:28:03 by Gargaj Gargaj
oh and

shut the hell up and stop dictating the way we are allowed to open our mouths

... you know, there's an irony in that sentence :D

gloom: i think you missed my point completely but i guess it doesn't matter since i said what i meant and i stick to that. (or rather, i don't feel like wasting more time with this)
added on the 2004-10-05 09:40:31 by leijaa leijaa
leia: well, if i missed your point completely and you're not willing to explain it to me because it's a waste of time, i guess we're stuck, won't you say? who's being elitist now?

to recap: i believe that saying that a prod is shit doesn't necessarily make one elitist or arrogant, no matter how many prods you've released or whatever. sometimes it's just frustration being vented, so live with it.

gloom: well i can try. i totally agree with the fact that you can say whatever you want about a productions quality, this isn't about that.

what i DID mean, and what i disagree with, is when it goes like "some people are too elite to work with people who aren't as elite" . basically your sentence about lb's music is to me stating that you think he's too good to work with us. if this is not what you meant, we have a communication problem.

but anyway, that's an attitude i don't like, and that's what i call eliteism.

for reasons for not wanting to continue this conversation: 1-> not really democomments anymore 2-> you'll think i overreact anyway 3-> i'm lazy as fuck
added on the 2004-10-05 12:17:41 by leijaa leijaa
leia: then i guess we have a communication-problem. what my comment means is "holy shit, this track is *the bomb*! what on earth is it doing in this crappy demo?! this music with some real code/graphics could be a killer-demo, oh my god what a waste.." - i am a musician, after all, so that's usually how my mind works when it comes to these things. if you take a look at my other comments on pouet, you'll also find that an overwhelming number of them concern the music above other things.

and yeah; this "discussion" have no real forum here, so let's quit it. i still feel that your comment about the shapeshifter-track is below the belt though and yeah; i think you overreact. in fact i think you pretty much always overreact/misunderstand my statements, but hey; it takes all kinds..

Gloom, Leia: Arguing on the internet is like ... you know, even if you win, somebody laughs at you. ;)

Gloom: You'll never become a diplomate. Neither your "piece of shit." nor your "holy shit, this track is *the bomb*! what on earth is it doing in this crappy demo?! this music with some real code/graphics could be a killer-demo, oh my god what a waste.." is friendly or helpfull. I know this because I thought the same about Anytime by TLS after I've watched it some times. I still love the music but get annoyed by some (under-)average parts of that demo. But I don't say it in a way that let's people hyperventilate over it. ;)
dude, it's the internet. :) (btw; atleast i'm no plek or stefan :)
added on the 2004-10-05 14:54:28 by gloom gloom
mad: yep, just getting annoyed by too many samelike comments lately and had to react somehow before i got too pissed..

gloom: i guess you throwing shit about squirrelz in the kindergarden thread was way above the belt? (although you (and the rest of the scene) never got that squirrelz is a joke group anyway, so it's not that i really care).

as for overreacting/misunderstanding, as said, too many of the things you've said (that i've read) lately have been pointing in the same direction for me to think this was any different.
added on the 2004-10-05 15:31:43 by leijaa leijaa
stop being such a dramaqueen then, and i'll stop commenting it.

..and yeah, of course people know that squirrelz was a joke-group (or atleast they should, considering the "prods"), but maybe people don't quite know what to think when sqz-"members" gets genuinely pissed if they are not greeted? doesn't get more wannabe than that, if you ask me.

good music in an otherwise awful demo
sucks added on the 2004-10-05 18:55:37 by hollowman hollowman
So ANYWAY, best part of this demo was watching Kelsey's excitement over being part of making it, seeing it on the screen, and just being part of the whole demoscene experience. Which is part of what the whole thing is about.
Crap I got so caught up in deleting my shooting down Gloom=Plek that I forgot to thumb up. Megawoots to all involved with this one.
It doesn't run properly for me - every texture has green bars. If anyone wants to contact me for system info to try and find the problem, I'll do so. Gets a pig because I'd never say something sucks if someone has obviously put effort into it, even if I don't particularly like it.
