nice. Had some fun playing it. As one criticism (or compliment?) that you're probably aware of, is that it really feels like flying an art snippet around where a ship should be, since the art wasn't selected to make the gameplay feel natural. For example, the guy crashes and dies if the tip of his foot bumps an obstacle.. so even if it's got pixel-accurate collision, it becomes a better strategy to pretend you're flying an invisible bounding box around rather than a man. Not particularly applicable in this case since it's a lighthearted art showcase.. but more a comment for other sceners making games in the future who might want to consider compromising art assets to improve gameplay feeling.

It has its imperfections, but it's a nice idea and nicely done. The music is really cool too.

Very very nice effort! An interesting take on the original R-Type-style games, with cool sketched graphics. I hope you will continue the developement, add some options, levels etc.
Only thing I really didn't like was the speech. When the girl says "Oil paint" or "Watercolour", it just sounds cheesey and could be more spirited imho.

If it crashes in sdl.dll at the beginning you can try the windowed mode with the command line option "-w"

Really really coool game although it was way to fast and to easy. Ad a bit of challenge and speed it will eppic.

I somewhat got stuck unintentionally at the ceiling and cannot detach that easy, usually pretty fast ending up in a game over. Doesn´t look that creative anyway (e.g., no effect of the water on the paintings)
