The picture is great indeed. The rest is normal stuff.

the picture is ineed nice, rest is bog standard 1991-1993 stuff. The shadebobs look buggy, like they are not (properly) double buffered or smth but might be an emulator related problem.

It will work fine in STEem with tos104uk ROM with 1MB memory.

It was coded on a 4MB STE and should work fine real hardware with less memory, unfortunatly
I didn't have anyone to test it on any other real hardware config.

There are some STE enhancements in the demo.

This is the first time I've coded a demo of this type which is wy the effects are so old-skool. I'd seen these effects before, but hadn't put any though in how to code them myself.

The shadebobs aren't buggy I used screen switching to have an unlimited number of bobs.

My next demo will be much better.

Things could have been much worse. The first demo of 2009 for the ST could have been a BITS production.

Red screen with Steem as well.

then they just look bad. ;) but as said, it might be an emulator problem.

It's okay. Nothing new but there's a good old school feeling in it also the intro pic is very nice). Looking forward for more new releases from Stax.

Unfortunately, it does not. Any chance of getting a bugfixed version ?

Fantastic pic, nice one Bod - Long time no speak!!

Glad you like it Tronic - P.M. meover at Atari-Forum.com if you want to speak some more.

To all those who are having difficulty getting the demo to run - When are you getting a red screen? Just after clicking on the file 'SCENE.PRG'? or when 'SCENE.BIN' has been loaded? I'm still a bit baffled as to why it's not working on some computers.
added on the 2009-01-05 20:18:31 by Oblivion Oblivion
I ran it from disk just to make sure and it loads the BIN before showing a red screen.

Many ol'skool effects shown at good pace and some nice pictures too. But the Prehistoric Tales tune maybe was not a good choice, it sure is a great tune but it also sound way too much ol'skool to me now :)

Watched with STEem, 1Mb and TOS 1.04uk without problems (google for TOS)

Why no original music?
Ok otheriwse with some nice pics :)
Bod, i had a go at it in the debugger and it hangs on my machine when trying to set the Line-A exception vector ($28).
The routine that is being put there mainly sets all colours to red and hangs up.
Apparently, a Line-A routine is being executed before the demo really starts but after having manipulated the vectors.

Very impressive for a first demo! The scenes are very diverse. This is promising for the future!

Very happy to say Hatari on my Mac runs this perfectly fine.
Brilliant demo!!

Well done! I particularly enjoyed the palette-animation-looking screens j just before "here's a nice picture." Great music throughout.
