Is it really different to use OpenGL on an Intel based MacOs, compared to a Intel based Windows ?

I'd give thumbs up for OS X, but... sorry, the rest is just not good.

Doesn't start on my 24" iMac, only prints out a list of commandline switches for resolution selection, none of which work.

pan: New version available at http://albin.abo.fi/~maanders/immersion/faux-flavors-release.tar.gz that hopefully fixes the crashing.

Still equally ugly though ;-)

I really liked the silver guy, but not the rest.

Okay guys, now it works and I'm gonna give some constructive criticism:

1) The best parts of this intro are the loading screen, since it's an obvious idea but never done before, and the title screen in the end, because it's stylish and somehow reminds me of Peter Saville's design (don't ask why).

2) The tits/no tits morphing is not funny all, fucking ugly and childish all at the same time. And why is there so little on screen there?

3) The landscape parts look disgusting, because the texture is both extremely small and repeats in a horrible fashion, and the blurry border in the world looks terrible and amateurish. It looks like an OpenGL test from 1998. The metaballs, shadows and the nice reflection shader don't really change that.

4) The movement both in the ballet on the moon-scene and the pole dancing scene is awful. I'm sure a proper bone system or whatever is not trivial to code, but seriously guys? Why not just turn the model into metaballs if you decide to abuse it that way?

5) The pole in the pole dancer scene is both 0xFF0000 colored and buggy and the movement is horrible. You shall never have 0xFF0000 if you're not debugging or know extremely well what you are doing. You don't belong to either category here.

You've been doing this for so long that you've had plenty of time to learn to not make things fucking ugly, and you obviously have the time since you're releasing so many productions. You're also driving people away from the Mac scene and perhaps even the demoscene simply because they will download this because it's for Mac and then they will gouge their eyes out.

Ei jätkät, ei.

You need the Rosetta software to run T. The Rosetta installer is in Optional Installs on your Mac OS X installation disc.

$ file /tmp/T
/tmp/T: Mach-O executable ppc

...wtf, macosx intel platform?
added on the 2009-09-20 16:44:18 by jmagic jmagic
jmagic,
The intro itself is x86, but the decompression stub from iPakk is PowerPC only.
This issue was unforeseen as snow leopard wasn't released yet when the intro was made.
