this was actually one of my faves on the stream :)
tl;dr
on OSX, java -jar greifswald.jar

Excellent music and nice looking scenes, I enjoyed it.
I liked the music, the rest of it was okay. Nice to watch.
What StingRay said. Feels a bit uninspired, but that's how they go sometimes. Liked the long write-up too.
Excellent. Nice writeup also.
There's some content but the presentation side is (once again, branch ;)) completely lacking. I did though enjoy the mood provided by the music and some of the visuals.
I liked it, BUT:
- Seriously impaired by all the filtering artifacts
- Felt like it tries to be 'HD', but fails completely at that (render at 2560x1440 is doable, MSAA, FXAA whatever).
This would imho improve the production a lot!

What Sense said! But, after third watch, also what lovebox said ;)
A couple of scenes that mimic 1990s demo tropes in a strange way.
Besides: No real design, sync or direction. Repeated scenes, artifacts, so-so music. Mmmpf.

I find this one hard to judge. There are some quite good looking scenes, fine colour schemes and a pleasant soundtrack (with a bit messy sounding mixing though). On the other hand, there is zero coherence and needless repetition. I have a feeling this could be a very decent demo with some more work, time for a polished final version perhaps?
magnum opus
Very nice! Deserve a higher place.
lovely music! and that scene at 1:17-1:22 was awesome.
really nice stuff going on, but needs a solid concept to stand out
nice
Very cool!

We released Greifswald Reaction demo at PayBack 2015, for the demo competition. I began working on the demo almost half a year ago by coding a decent fragment shaderprogram using sphere tracing method and doing 2D effects. At DemoJS we released Lahti-demo as a early taste what we were planning to release at PayBack, after getting feedback from that I reworked the whole sphere tracer and made it look a bit better. It has shadows and reflections. Some of the objects don't reflect much because I don't like thing to be too shiny and reflective, I'd rather have render that might be in the real world.
I talked with noby in November that we should do a Pan Sonic/Minimalist style demo. Because I fucked up managing the project noby had no idea what I was working on so he could not participate that well in doing the demo. He made part of the soundtrack but we could not include it in our demo because when I was finally giving some information about the effects to noby he was busy with the Epoch demo and lots of other stuff. Therefor he ended up using the pan sonicish song that was planned for Greifswald Reaction demo for Epoch's Engine demo. For Greifswald Reaction I used a song noby had made some time ago. I planned a shit ton of effects for the demo but the potential demosongs noby provided did not work so well with the effects so I had to drop a shit ton of effects and the whole concept from the demo that is the main reason why the effects are not terribly tight-knit. noby helped out with some ideas and post effects at the partyplace so major thanks to him.
I had a lot better idea for the models Dysposin and Sainigma provided but due to running out of time I had to come up with a totally different scene for those models. But hey thanks to those guys for doing some nice models.
I like faking simulations so I made a fake splash effect for Lahti-demo, and like for Lahti I wanted to do something similar so I did a fake water spead effect. I must admit the effect is not quite as cool as the Lahti-demo splash was but it's good enough.
I would've used the same demo engine as Epoch does but due to demo engines repository not having some files and me not reaching sm^ren/epoch(I guess he was abroad at the time) to fix this soon enough. For some stupid reason graphics card drivers fallback to Intel gpu on browsers so I could not use my handy Javascript engine. I had to come up a simple new demo engine fast and for that I unfortunately had to use Java because I wanted to speed up things with LibGDX library.
I'm now going to take a long break from the new school pc scene and do something else(8-bit? 486? psx? droid?).
Next time we'll have to change strategies so next demo would be atleast one hundred times better.
