A little OldSkool demo done for #codefr
added on the 2000-10-29 00:24:34 by Dbug
I LOVE IT BABY OLD SKOOL RULEZ THE SCENE.... ( back to da Roodz)
Rhââaâa lovely :)))))) encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again encore again
What exactly makes a 452Kb EXE + 43Kb Music an "Intro"? I don't think an unreadable scroller and lousy graphics and music make a production "oldskool".
Good idea, but really bad performed, even for a fast-code

right on.
it's funny how oldskool people bitch and whine about the need of limits on the scene, and then proclame their done-in-15-minutes half-meg sized piece of raw code and ugly colors an 'intro'..

Jd: I put "intro" because it's a single effect screen. Concerning the "OldSkool" concept, you should know that this prod was made as an entry in a irc #codefr fast compo. And in "fast compo", there is the word "fast". The objective was not to code something for an oldskool pc, but something that taste a little bit like olsdkool things.
And please, do not tell me I don't know I'm talking about, I've been coding this kind of demo on the Atari ST around 1989.
for ... => I know what a size limit is, I actually manage to won a size compo on my Oric machine at the STNICCC 2000 party. Concerning the fastly done, I simply use some boring module, fmod, and all is done in 32 bits graphix because I didn't had time to learn coding x86 code and other advanced code trickery.
Looks like you prefer people that do nothing, than people that actually try to code something. Perhaps that fast coding compo is not a part of demo scene after all. People have to learn something, somewhere, no ?

An intro is below 64k minimum. Anyway, it sucks
Yeah!
sorry dbug.. all your other stuff (like phaleon and your oric code) rules but this just doesn't cut it..
I like it. :)
Nice! Such stuttertfree 2dstuff is rare on pc :)
